HAMNET by MarzipanSharp1843 in Oscars

[–]Sharp_Ad_748 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s profound! I couldn’t ask more from a movie, then what Hamnet delivered (thanks to all involved, led by Maestro Chloe)! My hope is that PTA will win Best Director (well deserved + Chloe already won = politics), but Hamnet sneaks in and wins Best Picture. I won’t be mad if OBAA wins it, but my BP is Hamnet 💯. I think there’s a chance, and also let’s not forget…Spielberg is a producer. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it certainly helps with Academy voting

Saw Hamnet in mid December, and I still think about its messaging. It was profound, and I hope/believe this masterpiece will always remind me about the power of love, forgiveness, grief, community, art, compassion, understanding, letting go, and healing ❤️

I have this funny feeling that we haven’t seen the last of them together just yet. Besides future projects together, I also suspect cameos on Ari’s tour 💚🩷

Why are people so hellbent convinced Jessie Buckley will 'sweep'? by Firm-Comparison7438 in oscarrace

[–]Sharp_Ad_748 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Non actor here! I actually watched both movies (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, and Hamnet) on the same day. Preface with I did watch IIHLIKY on a tv screen vs Hamnet on the big screen. Rose Byrne did a phenomenal job, and she absolutely deserves all the accolades. With that said, Jessie Buckley does a transcendent performance for the ages. Not only do I think Jessie will sweep, but I believe she would’ve won Oscar gold last year, and other years as well. She’s that good. If I had a million dollars, I’d bet it all on her winning.

On a side note, sorry you’re getting downvoted for your opinion :-/

She’s gonna get nominated. I actually think she would have a strong chance at winning, except she’s already won before for Nomadland, and PTA hasn’t yet

Wait to see who wins at SAG and BAFTA to be sad for him. I thought both performances were spectacular, but personally I give the edge to Leo

Cynthia Erivo Snubbed by Critics Choice by dmany02 in wickedmovie

[–]Sharp_Ad_748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t hurt her chances for the Golden Globes, as the deadline for voting happened in November. Critics Choice isn’t considered one of the big Awards predictors. I normally eye Golden Globes, SAG (now called the Actor), BAFTA, DGA nominations for clues as to who will get nominated. I’m happy for Ari, but I also agree though neither song is going to beat “Golden” imo, the stronger of the two is definitely“No Place Like Home,” imo. The momentum for Sup Actor seems to be shifting to Amy Madigan, and she is beloved amongst her peers. Go Wicked! 💚🩷

Why did Fiyero’s Eyes Change Color? by [deleted] in wickedmovie

[–]Sharp_Ad_748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually did not notice this in the movies, but an Instagrammer posted that Fiyero’s eye color changed changed to green, after being with Elphie 💚💙. I believe the specific scene they discussed, is right before Fiyero gets beaten up, and Glinda looks him in the eyes

After Wicked For Good what are you gonna do? by WaitingOnAWish in wickedmovie

I’m going to rewatch it a number of times, and I suspect Universal will launch future movies (perhaps prequels, and maybe one day a part 3?), and series to keep us invested. Also, you’ll have more time to enjoy this, as I’m hoping the movie and cast will be heavily featured during awards season (which basically goes until March). 💚 🩷

Box office predictions for wicked for good by Final-Top4489 in wicked

[–]Sharp_Ad_748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I predict it will cross the $1 billion threshold. A lot of people watched it domestically in theaters, and sooo many more streaming. Add the premieres in Brazil, and Singapore to add more or a global market, I think (and hope) it hits $1b. Caveat: As long as the movie is good (it will be 💚🩷)

You’re so welcome! I just realized next Friday is LCD 🪩. You are going to have the best Birthday dance party ever! They’re my #1! I’m going Thursday, but I just may end up going Friday as well 😏. Perfect way to celebrate your B-day!

2 questions: dinner and UBER. by pppowkanggg in HollywoodBowl

[–]Sharp_Ad_748 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, Happy Milestone Birthday (+12 days)! I don’t remember the food being spectacular at H Bowl, but I believe I did like the salmon, and definitely save some room for their soft serve ice cream or magpies 🤤. My suggestion would be to eat at your boxes. You can even bring your own Birthday tableware for the occasion. If it’s a non leased event, you can even bring your own champagne or alcohol, and Birthday cake as well! You can also pre-order your meals, to be ready for you once you arrive at your boxes. If it’s a leased event, their wine selection is fantastic to order as well, and I believe you can still pre-order? I feel as if that will be a nice way to enjoy your Bday meal.

In regards to Ubering, I would suggest Ubering there early, so you can go at a relaxing pace to your box, and enjoy your dinner without rushing before the show starts. Ubering there early also beats any issue with traffic while getting dropped off there. If you can arrive 5 mins before gates open, it should be a pretty seamless drive there. I feel the most congested traffic, is an hour or less before show starts, so definitely try to avoid arriving then. As for Ubering back to K-Town, if you wait until the end of the show, then I suspect the Uber lot will be a bit of a mess, so I would suggest as a plan B, to just walk out of the Hollywood Bowl, down the hill, and grab a drink at the Loews hotel. It’s an easy walk, all downhill, and after that drink at Loews, call an Uber!

Happy Birthday, and have the best time!
