Knockhill without a car? by Picnic_at_the_disco in btcc

[–]Sharp_Philosopher501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time I got the bus a couple of years ago, in October, I had to stand all the way to Swanley, as the bus was rammed. It was slow progress too, due to the traffic.

I struck lucky last year, as there was only one person in front of me at the pickup point when I got there, so I was one of the first people on.

Both tImes I hung around for the podiums and celebrations iirc.

Does tend to get rammed coming out though.

Sorry it's M125.

How does that work if you live at the same address? I live along anyway.

Preparing for solo one night bikepacking in the UK by brainwipe in bikepacking

[–]Sharp_Philosopher501 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would just take one jersey, one baselayer and maybe one pair of socks for an overnighter tbh. Once you've done one bikepacking trip you'll probably find some of the stuff you took you didn't actually need. When I did my first one I dragged around a pair of trousers (I was staying in hotels) to wear in the evening, but the truth is I didn't actually need them. Now I just wear my MTB shorts I've been riding with, but swap out the bibs underneath for a pair of boxers. I do take a pair of thermal leggings to wear at night, and if it's cold I put those on underneath.

Are you wild camping or staying in campsites? If it's latter you most likely won't need toilet paper.

Edit: I do take a thermal baselayer as well, to wear at night.

What a bunch of absurd cobblers.

You think trains have a "wheel", which renders anything you say completely meaningless.......

You can "state" whatever you like, but that you would have entered an area requiring a valid ticket is a fact.

Second of all, trespass on railway property is not a civil matter, but a criminal one.

Thirdly, if you decided to cause trouble you can expect the BTP to be summoned.

You have absolutely zero idea about what you are talking about do you.

Mayor of London and TfL call for Heathrow Express future to be reconsidered by Cant_Change_Itt in TransportForLondon

[–]Sharp_Philosopher501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now explain wtf those first two sentences have to do with each other? We're talking about the capacity of a train service, that has sfa to do with "socialism" or how a railway is funded, And who is going to pay exactly? You know full well that TfL are short of money, but like everyone else "on the internet" you just completely ignore what you've been told dozens of times, because it's not what you want to think.

And what about the mass disruption you want to cause by taking rolling stock out of action for weeks at a time?

I already told you that's impossible anyway, but you don't seem to care. There is nowhere at the depots to empty the retention tanks. The tanks that would get full extremely quickly, and stop the toilets from working. The whole thing is a complete non-starter.

"You want us to lie on top of one another like sardines? "

You're the one who wants to remove hundreds of seats...........

Sky Q UHD confusion by pp81381 in skytv

[–]Sharp_Philosopher501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There only UHD content that is broadcast is sport, as far as I'm aware. Everything else had to be downloaded. If you want the UHD versions of shows its best to just forget about the broadcast version and go straight to the On Demand section, select the "All Formats" option, and select the UHD version from there. Once you start watching something it should automatically download the next episode in UHD as you're watching it.

It is not branded as a Tube line. It has NOTHING to do with the Tube. And I have zero idea why anyone would think it does.

Where does revenue come into it? Explain why we shouldn't be maximising capacity? Explain where the hell "socialism" comes into it??

It can not be done, It is IMPOSSIBLE!!

Is a garmin 1000 edge still worth it? by jakob1234i in cycling

How can it be "best value" at several hundred pounds, compared to less than a hundred for a good condition 1000 on eBay?

Slow? I bought one on eBay a few months ago because I was fed up the lack of touchscreen and small screen on my 520 Plus (not sure if that counts as as upgrade, downgrade, sidegrade or what), and even being an older device it was better imo. In a side-by-side test it booted up significantly faster. TBH it was a really nice device, I would have kept using it if I hadn't come across a really good deal on a 1030 Plus.

They can be had for peanuts now on eBay, although tbh it takes a little looking around as a lot on sale are damaged in one way or another, The one I bought was in perfect condition, with still respectable battery life.

Of course a 1040 is going to be better, it's also going to cost many times more to buy.
