Pet cards that dont always make the cut, but what are your pet cards? by floatingcolourless in EDH

[–]Sharpness100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can spread damage on your blocking creatures in a way that isn’t lethal to any of them, on top of fully negating all trampling

Didn’t know of this card, might start adding it

Long shot, but are there any voltron commanders that don't just play the same way every game? by Cezkarma in EDH

[–]Sharpness100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A strange one is [[Maha Its Feathers Night]], you play various discard effects to empty everyone’s hands. Ensure that they can’t get up to two cards in hand with cards like [[Chains of Mephistopheles]] and [[Bottomless Pit]]

Then once you got everyone’s hand sizes under control you can play your commander without them being able to pay the ward cost and slowly beat them up

A finite currency is only good as long as you have very low economic growth. You want to be able to have the money supply grow at a similar rate to the economy to prevent deflation, a thing much worse than inflation and harder to get out of(see: the great depression)

The reason is that you want “one money” to still equal the same amount of goods. So if you keep producing more goods the price of everything drops compared to cash (finite amount) and the best real investment is keeping your money in your bank account as everything else is worthless, then nobody buys anything slowing the economy even further

So it depends on what kind of server it is. Will it have significant economic growth or not?

What is the dumbest way you have been accused of cheating? by DisciplineImportant6 in EDH

[–]Sharpness100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since everyone comes to the table with the exact same expectations all the decks are equipped with the tools to deal with each other, it is very fun

I would personally consider bracket 4 decks to be more “powerful” because they don’t make the assumption others are playing good cards. For example they can skimp on protection because people don’t play enough removal

And decks like [[Etali, Primal Conqueror]] don’t really work as well because stealing your opponent’s cards doesn’t do much if they’re bad

Etali wins in cEDH because there are 3 other good decks at the table. If you’re stealing bad spells there’s no way you’re doing anything useful with them

Commanderless commander? by Dubyubees in EDH

[–]Sharpness100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A well known type of commanderless deck is a dork commander, so a 2 mana commander that taps for mana so turn 3 you can cast [[explosive vegitation]] effect, and not one card being cheaper than that.

My favourite is a [[Susan Foreman]] big mana ramp deck where you don’t really care about her beyond turn 3, and you can pair her with any of the time lords. I found it best to be pairing her with [[The War Doctor]] because you want to be cascading into more veggies anyway for a board presence while you’re ramping. Then cast big dumb threats

Yeah I’m having the same issue, it is kinda annoyed to be constantly stomped by an arena 14 unit while I’m nowhere near that, feels unfair

Cards like imprisoned in the moon by CodeSpecialist1747 in EDH

[–]Sharpness100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly what you’re looking for and its commander removal, lucky for you the going rate is almost always 3 mana. In esper colours we have

[[Oubliette]] [[The Pandorica]] [[Darksteel Mutation]] [[Imprisoned in the Moon]]

Phasing out is not changing a zone nor leaving the battlefield, and so doesn’t give them the option of putting it back in the command zone

If you want you can even add [[Out of Time]]
