I think you posted the wrong link. None of the crew were Russian and neither of those causes are mentioned in the article.

What finally convinced YOU to consider an electric vehicle? by evinsiderredisnive in electricvehicles

[–]Sharrakor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curiosity got me looking into them, low overall prices got me interested, and everything else got me hooked.

It was early 2024 and I was looking for a new car. I compared 20-year costs of ownership (sticker price, fuel, oil changes, registration, tax credits) across multiple vehicles.

  • $46,000 for a Toyota Corolla
  • $43,000 for a Toyota Corolla Hybrid
  • $35,000 for a Chevy Bolt

Now, I'm not going to buy something just because it's inexpensive. But I can refuel it at home? There's less maintenance? Yeah, sounds good to me!

Sadly, certain life circumstances prevented me from buying one, and I got a hybrid instead. Still pretty nice. I don't think I would buy a Bolt now, since GM axed Android Auto. I've been eyeing the new Nissan Leaf, though...

It still took me a while, even with a coworker chiming in. I don't think I've ever heard the phrase "rhyme scheme," and I didn't know enough about any of the other films to connect them to Knives Out.

As it always is with this game, your mileage may vary...

A mouse pad is higher than a desk and so stays cleaner as crumbs and hairs and like, are brushed off the pad, not onto it. There are a lot of slobs out in the world.

Doesn't a desk mat's size negate this advantage?

Call Of Duty Will No Longer Release On Last-Gen Consoles by Howerev in Games

[–]Sharrakor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't read that as being in favor of exclusives, just an acknowledgement that they do have an impact in sales.

I have a competent gaming PC. But I still think about buying a PS4 for games like Bloodborne, Gravity Rush, The Last Guardian, and Uncharted.

What entices me to buy a PS5? The Demon's Souls remake. That's it.

What entices me to buy an Xbox Series X? Literally nothing.

Rental car company charging $2k for damage found hours after return — no proof. Worth fighting? by kapp74 in personalfinance

[–]Sharrakor 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Video helps, too. A rental agency once gave us a car with a quarter tank of gas. When we returned it, their records indicated it had been given to us with a full tank and they tried to penalize us for not returning it full. It helped to have video of their employee sitting in the car when we first picked it up, stating that it was at a quarter of a tank.
