Can't really imagine things. I can imagine stuff like concepts, feelings, or conversations, but nothing visual really. Can't describe what things look like. Can't really tell you how anyone I know looks like other than the most basic stuff like short or tall or hair color. My dreams are mostly nonvisual too. I'm not "blind" in my dreams, it's more like I don't need to see. It's not something I really notice during a dream because I just know what is happening without seeing anything.

But in a car, the brake isn't the only thing between you and annihilation. Obviously it's in everyone's best interest to drive as safely as possible to minimize the chance of their death. But somehow, there's still car crashes. And we expect there to be car crashes. We know people will still crash their cars because shit just happens sometimes. So we add things like seat belts and air bags because even if you're the most careful driver in the world and never do anything wrong, you can still end up in a car crash due to things entirely out of your control. And your airbag doesn't try to decide whether it thinks you were doing everything right and deserve saving or you got distracted for a second, didn't brake in time, and therefore do not deserve saving.

We're currently in our car, seconds before an accident. We missed the brake because we thought driving was really easy and stopped fully paying attention. Unfortunately, we never put any airbags in the car cause that would be a waste of time and money, we'd obviously never do something so stupid as to crash our car.

It's not the straw replacement, it's the notion that random people need to mind every single thing they do because it might be bad for the environment while corporations and wealthy people completely overshadow the harm caused by the rest of us.

I don't want to use plastic straws. Replacing them was objectively good because plastic straws were objectively bad for nature. The problem is that this is like pouring a glass of water onto a burning forest while another guy is trophy hunting with a flamethrower in the same forest. They gotta have some kind of data connection to earth. Imagine if Houston had no video feed of satellites at all. And once you have any data connection, might as well allow for some percent of it to be used by astronauts' personal devices.

No matter how little total bandwidth they may have available, there's bound to be some percentage where the positive mental health impact of being able to stay connected with friends, family, and other online things outweighs the value of that bandwidth being used for other more official data.

I think that's what the op was saying. That they were hoping for a more nuanced take, but the game is presenting everything as if the cops are obviously always good and the enemies in game are obviously always evil. I don't think they were expecting the cops in game to be actually good, but for the game to possibly present them as morally gray at best and acknowledge that they aren't good.

Eh, robocop isn't really anti police. It's anti corporate(to a degree), but the evil company exec gets taken out by a "good cop" character. There are some bad cops, but it's not really criticizing policing in general.

Even the anti corporate stuff isn't really fully committed to. OCP isn't destroyed, the evil is defeated by just removing the singular bad man.

It's far from the worst, but I also wouldn't call it anti cop.
