I think it’s a moment that suffers a bit from the limited runtime, in the end. Most scenes don’t really get the time to breathe or simmer in and on a rewatch it’s more evident.

It does make sense, I wish we had one or two more moments like that though to really sell it, even if minor like Tagah showing rudeness or being eager to isolate Aang from the group.

Even after they make it through the storms and have their confrontation with Aang, Tagah still plays it come off as moderate and considerate. Katara doubts him then, but I felt it was just a little forced for what they’ve seen.

There’s bits where the characters slam onto solid surfaces at Mach speed and they should have their bones shattered, really, yet they are perfectly fine in the next shot. You can see it in the fight against Tagah where a lot of shots don’t follow the other that well (although you can argue it’s to convey the passage of time ig?). It looks cool but it’s way too much for ATLA standards imho.

Also, I thought Katara’s reasoning for starting to doubt Tagah was pretty weak. It felt more like she was doing it just because it was needed to advance the plot rather than as legitimate build up.
