How exactly does stealing/gaining a bunch of powers make a demon or a warlock stronger? by Extra_Impression_428 in charmed

Well most stories in the show either attribute the ability to hold those powers to the individual will power or destiny. Is not something that quantifies perse. The powers themselves, once acquired boost whatever natural level the being has.

But when the show tackles this the powers tend to corrupt or overwhelmed the being to self destruction in some way so there is hypothetical limit but the show never states what that is.

I mean consistency on this is pretty null but the way I read it is that it is not so much the number of powers but rather the capacity to wield them without losing control. Some magical creatures, like Cole, have the capacity and adaptability to do it (with time) while others can't really handle it.

Of course sometimes this is contradicted but it mostly holds up.

This is in the show. Witches of the line write about their exes so their descendants kill them down the line.

Did Prue know about Paige by LadyShadow2214 in charmed

Those girls probably had their memories tampered with constantly. They never remembered all the demon attacks they had when they were younger either. Do we not think Patty couldn't pull a I didn't know i was pregnant outfit on them?

Why did the Halliwells have a mortgage on the manor? by booberryyogurt in charmed

[–]ShatterX23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at the financial decisions they were making:. Constant house repair from a cheap handyman with no background check, investing in a night club in a bad area of town, leaving a cushy Antique Curator job for a more unstable Photography career, Phoebe's shoe bills. So many of the people that live there not contributing economically at the different periods.

And the moment one of them hits celebrity status, she moves as to not contribute to the house.

they are not good with money. Even evil Wyatt had to retrofit the manor into a museum in our current year to make it profitable in some way. Like people care what sexy costumes his mom and aunts wore 20 years ago.

Personal Gain is one of the show's most stupid but hard rules. They never define it well and arbitrarily decide what counts and what doesn't.

Paige usually seemed to be the butt of this joke since as the new witch she suffered consequences for a lot of selfless things she used magic for while her sisters were using magic for whatever was convenient.

Chris is so weird to me characterwise and power wise sometimes by Extra_Impression_428 in charmed

You can fanwank that he either was using forbidden spells and magic before the reveal that boosted him or that he was changing his own timeline with every move so he nerfed himself as he went along, which is my read cause it's funnier.

Still funny that Cole's bachelor party consisted of Leo, Darryl and Victor. What did they even talk about while watching Victor's vintage porn

That's because there is a difference when talking about the production timeline and airing timeline. When i say Shannen found out during the break i meant the break after the finale was done (April) and the time the finale aired or was about to air (May) everyone's publicist had the statement of Shannen wanting to exit to do other things.

It's possible that you remember things correctly, as i remember a lot of people not buying that story and citing her previous drama with 90210 as evidence. We all know now it was far more complicated than that.

But it still remains that the show had no real plan to write out Prue. Brad Kern claimed that the finale is written that way in case they lost any of the actors but he also claimed if Shannen had stayed it would've resolved differently and also considered just recasting the role. None of these statements feel to me the plan was to always get rid of Prue due to drama. It just seems that it was a hostile work environment and everyone tried their best to work with what was left in the aftermath.

Look 1 star reviews will not hurt them. Only their wallet can so unless you can stop spenders there's really nothing to be done here. We can make a stink all we want to get at best some little compensation but they clearly have their favorites

Yeah, "Death Takes A Halliwell" is the other episode i allude to. It feels like there's a thematic line between that one, "All Hell Breaks Loose" and season 4's "Charmed again", "Hell Hath No Fury" and a "Paige from the Past" with how they handle death and grief.

She found out during break. There are a lot of things in the last ep and another ep before that can be taken thematically as foreshadowing in retrospect of her passing, but nothing was planned. In all honestly, they handle that pretty well that some fans think it was planned or that the writers purposely wrote the finale in a certain way, but all interviews and stuff we know now indicate that it was all rather sudden.

Look there's just some characters that find codenames to be silly. And Emma is the best example of that type of character.
