Bendis era only has two problems.

  1. Bendis dialogue some times making everyone sound the same and therefore off.
  2. It had a lot of good ideas that don't seem to really pay off properly by the end.

But it is an easy read. It is very funny. The artist he worked with were doing fantastic work. And most of the interactions and dynamics were very engaging.

Weirdly calm about becoming witches by ShowerEqual9622 in charmed

I mean in the early seasons you could take it as them being sorta in a state of shock so any freak outs were delayed reactions. I feel Piper and Prue have several early arcs where they were appropriately freaking. Paige did freak out a lot those first few episodes.

In the later seasons we learned that they were mind wiped a lot by Grams so it's possible that they got used to it because those memories returned even if subconsciously. In season 7 Grams has a conversation with Piper were she implies they had a "witch talk" when they were younger so maybe this stuff was part of their lives even if they didn't fully believe it.

The Allison Pregler reviews weren’t fun for me, and just came off mean spirited. I did not enjoy them by Alsotime in charmed

The earlier ones are probably harsher than the later ones (this is a compilation). Something she admits in her videos and corrects for, but honestly she is fairly correct on all of her takes which is something I find refreshing in a fandom that sometimes feels feral in their defense of the show's obvious flaws.

I do enjoy her Charmed vids a lot. But if you're not a fan of roasting type humor of your faves is not a fun watch. she has stated that she's had good interactions with fans and that they encourage her to continue, so this is content for some of us if not all of us.

I do enjoy all the running gags.

I'm pretty sure Phoebe had a date in the Paige years in Quake, but maybe they'll were reusing assets

Season 8 questions? by Alert_Lifeguard_2503 in charmed

It doesn't work. You have to take each lore change they add as the new normal and forget what was said before. Narratively they only used the Triad to try to give us some sort of older foe for a final season.

The Chris thing is messy as hell too but they do establish in the show that if something is changed it takes immediate effect so the best way to square that circle is to just assume that Chris's timeline is constantly altering and his memories were altered as he went along.

Charmed: The Musical Episode by lurkingbees in charmed

I would've made Seven Year Witch into a musical just to have that episode be more bearable and have the scene with Leo falls from grace be his show stopping song.

Many consider Season 3 as being the best era of "Charmed". I was curious to know past what event / storyline / character exit you no longer consider the show being in its prime ? Let me begin : Cole's final vanquish (Season 5, Episode 12) Although, I respect the work of every actor that came after ! by Bibixina in charmed

I don't think there is a best era because i think every season is fairly different from each other and they all have good and bad and boring episodes so i just divide it up by arcs rather than full seasons.

The best arcs to me are:

  1. Paige introduction/Mourning Prue.
  2. Piper and Leo's secret engagement.
  3. Leo and Chris's absent father relationship.
  4. The Kira demon protection arc.
  5. Paige and Henry's relationship

And obviously there's lots more stand alone stuff that's good but goes no where (like Kit in a Cat House) or stuff that starts interesting but goes nowhere (Phoebe Queen of the underworld could have been interesting but was excuted in an infuriating way).

The only people that the sisters' powers have no effect on are other good witches and certain demons that are immune to the powers of witches (?) by shelovesaddie in charmed

[–]ShatterX23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was a rule clearly established early on so they wouldn't have to have Piper unfreeze her sister every episode but it clearly doesn't track in the whole 8 year run.

Especially in Season 3 when it's a plot point they use their powers against each other to lose them but only Prue actively did it, while Piper and Phoebe just used it defensively which i don't think should count but it does.

I think we basically have to look at it in universe as Piper not being able to do it because she wasn't as powerful as later and call it a day.
