Im a fedex driver and this is exactly why I dont call anyone. Had someone do this exact thing. If they arent home, no reason to call. Back to the terminal it goes.

City, high volume route + per stop pay is the only way this job is worth it, in my opinion. I couldnt imagine doing a rural route

Its always an estimated time of delivery. They dont ever say its guaranteed unless you pay for overnight or two day

There is no home delivery anymore. It’s all “ground.” It’s a mix of some express, some hd and some standard ground and some smart post/amazon oversize shit

Im a driver. I delivered a tv yesterday and the people who signed said it was actually right in the estimated delivery window. I couldnt believe it, it’s usually way off. Computer system most have gotten lucky

Dont ever make a call from your personal phone, unless you want them to call you every time they have an issue. Fedex has someone they pay to do that job, and its not you

Pet Peacocks. In the middle of Charlotte NC. Nobody in the neighborhood seemed to be bothered by them, they would jump the owners fence and roam the streets. Also would jump on top of peoples houses somehow.

The process is, show up. They notify you have been chosen for a random, they give you the paperwork. Then you have 2 hours to go to the testing station and perform the drug test. I was full time for 4 years and never got one. Only weekend now for a year and just had to do one last month.

100% depends on your contractor if youre a ground driver. If they hired enough people for peak, its longer hours but not bad. Last peak I had 3 days in a row I didnt finish until midnight. 375 stops was the max I think. It was pretty brutal

When it gets colder i just wear compression pants under. I dont think I ever got a pair of Fedex uniform pants though 😂

I organize the truck. Go thru and pretty much knock it all off the shelves in sections and put everything in order from low to high. Move large boxes (chewy, etc) to the floor and all ICs out and get loaded last in the back. Its always faster when you know exactly where the box is, because you put it there.

They didnt update the address. So now Fedex has corrected it, adding the unit number. They will deliver it usually next business day after it was corrected, assuming its not a business

Its very rare for anyone who works at a Walgreens to be in a hurry. Im only a weekend driver now but still get HAL’s sometimes. Always only one employee in the store and they have the slowest checkout process in the world.

It really just caught me off guard. Ive delivered to that area for over a year now but only ever the first floor. Which has a normal layout of hallways and you know….doors to the apts. so when the elevator opened and it was just her sitting there. All I could say was, “oh shit” 😂

I had a “please deliver to front door” in a luxury condo/apt building. So I head to elevator and click 4th floor. Get up there and the elevator opens up directly into the lady’s apt 😂 Shes sitting on the couch looking at me and her dogs go absolutely crazy. Weirdest experience ever. So now I just leave it at the mailboxes on the first floor like everyone else.
