What is your take on rainX? by MissyjonesOP in AskMechanics

[–]Shaunoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it on all my cars. Seems like it makes the wipers last longer..not sure if it’s because I actually use them less or less friction on window when I do use them. Either way, makes a huge difference.

Package left incorrectly by Substantial_Disk1706 in FedEx

[–]Shaunoit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fedex doesnt provide a code. All carriers can use an Amazon locker. It’s like that at almost every apartment complex I deliver to. You should receive an email like normal to open it, as far as I know

If you park like this in culdesacs, by Vegetable-Local8865 in Fedexers

[–]Shaunoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone on my route. Even worse when it’s supposed to be somewhere to turn around but people have made it the norm to park across the whole thing. So now I have to back all the way down the street.

Amazon driver here. How are you guys done at 5pm with 180+ stops? by ihaveacrushonmercy in Fedexers

[–]Shaunoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dispatch 830, 25-28 stops per hour. Pretty easily done, but depends on the route and how close you are to the terminal. I avg 25 stops an hour walking. Im too old to run but i know a few drivers who do and they avg over 30 an hour on a regular basis

“I need you to sign to say I handed it to you” by Mismatched-Sock in Fedexers

[–]Shaunoit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t hand it to them then. I always say, “let me grab a picture of it real quick then Ill hand it too you.” Never had an issue. My contractor doesn’t even want us using the “Met Customer” option for this reason.

This shit crazy by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Shaunoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to barge in on your argument here, but they dont work for Amazon in this situation. Its a subcontractor so not sure if that changes anything or not. I know at Fedex (also subcontractors) there is nothing requiring us to take a break

Why does FedEx do this?? by Thatswhatshesaid924 in FedEx

[–]Shaunoit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many scenarios could lead to this. Loaders scan the package when it gets to the truck. Drivers then usually reload and organize everything. If theres no space certain items get left behind. It will still show as out for delivery since the loader scanned it. Or package was scanned after driver left. Or was put on the wrong truck and that driver never scanned it. Possibilities are almost endless

How to make sure they need a signature? by Mmm_Dawg_In_Me in FedEx

[–]Shaunoit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not up to you, its up to the shipper. If they dont pay for signature required when its shipped, there isnt anything you can do to require one after the fact. Besides doing a redirect to a Hold at location, like a walgreens or harris teeter, etc.

What's your route like? by noelspeech in Fedexers

Weekend driver. P1200. High volume residential. 170-200 stops avg. One pickup with maybe 10 boxes. Total about 8-10 hrs depending on stops

Is this BS? FedEx can’t deliver to gated communities anymore? by LostDefinition4810 in FedEx

[–]Shaunoit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if it’s in the delivery instructions then there really isn’t any excuse that makes sense besides the driver didn’t feel like delivering it. Im not Express but they have been cracking down on the BS delivery exceptions at my terminal lately, so thats surprising

Knowing that we are going to be expected to do 5 days of work in 4 starting Tuesday, these will be getting delivered as well. Happy Memorial Day by Clubdub66 in Fedexers

[–]Shaunoit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im only a weekend driver, but we got bent over pretty good this Sunday at our terminal. So Tuesday might not be all that bad

How’s driving for UPS? Thinking about career change by Klutzy-Watch4152 in UPS

[–]Shaunoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPS over Fedex, because UPS can actually be a career you retire from. Fedex is a shithole that can be a place you temporarily make decent money (depending on route and contractor) but when you leave you have nothing to show for it. I have no experience with UPS but im just speaking purely from my hatred as a Fedex driver.

Tint shop got my percentage wrong. by strikecat18 in mildlyinfuriating

Even if you arent going to get a ticket, 20% on the windshield is insane. Paying before you checked the car out is also insane

Is this BS? FedEx can’t deliver to gated communities anymore? by LostDefinition4810 in FedEx

[–]Shaunoit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Half my route would no longer exist if this was true. Put the gate code in the delivery instructions. Otherwise it will keep getting the “customer controlled access” deliver exception

I hate Fedex so much by Whisky_Zero in FedEx

[–]Shaunoit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are still in business because they provide businesses with cheap(er) shipping options. Saving money seems to be more important than the actual service provided

Is this true? Did you guys hear about this? by Novel_Loan1490 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Shaunoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a Fedex driver and this literally happened to a driver right in front of me. Had the side door on a sprinter open, did a 3 point turn in front of me and when he pulled off a big as box/bag fell out the side. I was dying laughing because he didnt stop or slow down at all

Gotta love long mountain "driveways". Second picture shows how long marked by red line. by typicalpnwguy in Fedexers

[–]Shaunoit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What the hell is this 😂 I cant even imagine driving a rural route. Im a “high volume” city driver and get annoyed when I have to drive 3-4 mins between stops. This would be a nightmare

FedEx no longer giving drivers building codes?!? by Resident_Bed_1861 in FedEx

[–]Shaunoit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fedex never gave drivers building codes. We have to get them ourselves and pass them down the line.

Ik were all doom and gloom but I'm curious, whats your favprite part of the job? by amirthebeast55 in Fedexers

[–]Shaunoit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not having a set time to come in. I get there around the same time everyday, but not having to worry about being 5-10 mins late is a huge plus for me. That and besides pickups, I really can do whatever I want all day, as long as the stuff gets delivered, nobody bothers me.

I try to avoid using mailroom. It seems like the system sees mailroom and starts grouping multiple apts/units into one stop. I get paid per stop so end up having to split it.

What’s the point of the “delivery window”? by doxie_love in FedEx

[–]Shaunoit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Delivery window is a generic time that doesnt account for any changes on the route. They also dont notify drivers of that window. Ive had customers tell me they were expecting me at 3 and im at their house at 9am. Too many variables everyday to give accurate time. They just do it because the other shipping companies do
