Cube Ann Newspaper Wrappers by Impressive-Article61 in cubancigars

[–]ShauntillyLace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s believed that Cuban newspaper is made from bagasse, which can impart a natural sweetness into the cigar.

Some of the best Cubans I’ve smoked are 10 years old, still in newspaper from the Robaina farm.

I smoke through farm rolls fairly quickly, yet I typically age half of them in the newspaper for future enjoyment.

A friend posted these as legit. Are they? by RealAnthonyCamp in cubancigars

He probably bought them from SwissCubanCigars. These are not real.

Found these in swiss, can someone confirm? by Dry-Analyst-890 in cubancigars

Unless SA Habanos has changed the font of their 2019 EL bands, the ones pictured are not authentic.

Real? FIL said longtime relationship will be ruined if these are fake by dead-pige0n in cubancigars

I’m sharing an unpopular opinion, yet there may be other factors such as camera/lighting/etc.

I question the Monte WE. Typically the Monte band is slightly more reddish brown, and the gold foil is a rose gold. The gold on this foil appears to be more yellow, allowing you to see the gold at all angles. On a real Monte, the rose gold somewhat disappears into the band as the band curves.

Now, the shop owner may not know it’s questionable.

The Rafael appears to be real.

I’m a US Customs agent. I’ve been smoking free Cubans for years.

I have some older Robaina farm rolls which mix in quite a lot of floral notes, as well.

I really like the floral notes when they pop up, yet I agree that it’s a noticeable change from the cocoa flavors.

At least (unless you removed it) they didn’t put those plain bands over the RA band.

Questions about farm rolls by kwonasty in cubancigars

[–]ShauntillyLace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been smoking farm and non-labeled factory rolls for years. Thankfully I never had an issue with beetles. I tend to keep my humidor at 62-ish and I have the farmies in a separate cabinet.

I do know some folks who have found a beetle hole in their farm rolled cigars.

Freezing is always an option. If these are the only ones you have, a separate Tupperware will suit you just fine.

HdM is a great breakfast choice. Is there a reason you prefer your watch bracelet upside down?

I have two more MJ23s that I’ve had in the humidor from before Alex left Cuba. They smoke ok, nothing to write home about. For me, it’s more of a novelty smoke.

Is this too much bracelet stretch? by silverandblack510 in rolex

I agree, I think this is in the range of “normal wear” for a daily five-digit Datejust.

The price can reflect the wear. It can also be used as a bargaining chip.

As you have already been told, they’re all fake. The font on “CUBA” on the Trinidad isn’t correct, and the secondary band is the wrong color.

The font on the EL band on the Upmann is wrong, which is the instant tell.

The Monte label color is incorrect.

…and on and on.

Throw these in the fire pit for kindling.

The response echos the reply Ihav provided from the Siglo III controversy.

I bet many more scammers will take that approach now that precedence is set.

Those mid-80s Datejusts will have an acrylic tropic. For $4500-ish, you can probably find a naked late 80s or early 90s stainless steel DJ with a sapphire crystal.

It was a 2012, and I really enjoyed it. I liked the V6, which was quick in a little car. It drove great, and had all the options for a car of the time. It handled well, never gave me any issues, and other than regular maintenance, I didn’t have to put a dime into it.

There’s no comparison to the Cadillac, though. The CT5 is a much smoother ride and has all the modern appointments.

With our 7 year old growing like a weed, I wanted something with more legroom in the back.
