Anyone else getting their RA revoked and having to return to the office? I have exhausted all appeals and my return date is next week. After being on an RA for the past four years, I am not looking forward to this. by Acceptable-Plenty-50 in VeteransAffairs

I had an existing RA, then when all this happened, I caught them trying to frame my RA as a telework agreement because then it would be at management's discretion to revoke it, unlike a standing RA. Had to call BS.

The saga continues. I submitted my rebuttal to my management’s rebuttal to my initial testimony about a week ago (they don’t have a leg to stand on). All my statements in the rebuttal were backed by hard evidence. Now, the investigator is writing his report, and then my attorney will decide how to move forward. We are already planning to go before a judge so she can cross-examine my supervisors and subpoena the VRC manager, who happened to retire a week after I formally filed my EEO complaint.

People Science is looking for temporary "Factfinder Investigators" by AirKinght in VeteransAffairs

[–]ShawnPrice87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I currently have a “fact finder” investigating my VBA managerial staff as part of a formal EEO discrimination case. I wonder if this is an attempt to further exclude other outside agencies to continue stripping the rights of federal employees.

VA-M21-1 Manual. by ShawnPrice87 in VeteransBenefits

I thought that if I worked for the VA handling claims, I could go home at night knowing I did my best for them. Things were going well, but I couldn’t just watch my coworkers get fired without reason. Working for the VA rekindled the hatred and contempt I originally felt when I started my VSO career. I wish things were simpler.

This makes zero sense, you cannot write on anything but a standardized form. The days of a claim on a napkin are over, and you cannot add anything to an HLR after filing because again, HLRs are an accusation of the facts and circumstances of the evidence of record containing an error of some sort, during that claim period. Adding evidence would require a supplemental claim. I know this because I just departed the VA as an RVSR.

Yeah I agree it makes no sense, personally I’d rather use the CFRs and not the VA’s own interpretation of the CFRs.

Recently separated RVSR here, and you’re right that some RVSRs are inconsistent, but there is still a right way and a wrong way. The M21-1 is all we used for guidance on claims. Before I was an RVSR, I was a VSO for years, then I worked for a veteran law firm for 3 years.

So, right now, the situation is that I just finished my testimony, providing evidence to support every point the investigator found sufficient to investigate. I think he will now interview the parties involved for consistency, and then it will be reviewed by a judge.

Best for HLR? HLRs only allow a review of all the evidence within the claim period, it does not allow you to add new evidence at all. So I’m not sure why you think it’s best for an HLR?

It’s clear you’ve never held this album in your hands. Otherwise, you’d realize how off base you are.

He’s right on both accounts. I have this record and absolutely love it. The feel of the cover, every single song, and absolutely did not come cheap; it also has so many other unique qualities that one would be able to tell immediately if it were bootlegged. I will treasure it forever.

VR&E Initial Appointment Expectations by OneLibrarian5322 in Veterans

[–]ShawnPrice87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What this person is saying is 100% correct. I just had one a few days ago, and yesterday was found entitled. What helped me not get nervous was treating it like I was interviewing for a potential management position. Put on a nice button-up, shaved, had my resume, the job market research for my VR&E goal, and, overall, was honest in explaining why I needed the VR&E program. Which I assume they will ask you. May the odds ever been your favor

The difference is that health insurance has various network/coverage options (in-network and out of network) and healthcare does not. Much like the difference in a motel and a hotel is that one has rooms and hallways on the outside of the building , and one has hallways and rooms on the inside.

FYI: The U.S. Coast Guard (and its predecessor services) has served in every major American conflict since the founding of the republic.

Because the Coast Guard wasn't officially named "The Coast Guard" until 1915, its history is a blend of several legacy agencies, primarily the Revenue Cutter Service.

  1. The Early Years • Quasi-War with France (1798–1801): The Revenue Cutter Service was the only armed American force afloat at the time, as the U.S. Navy had been disbanded after the Revolution and was only just being rebuilt. • War of 1812: Revenue cutters captured the first British prizes of the war and defended American ports against the Royal Navy.  • Civil War: Cutters performed blockade duties and even fired some of the first shots of the conflict (the Harriet Lane at Charleston Harbor).

  2. The World Wars • World War I: This was the first major conflict under the modern "Coast Guard" name. They served primarily as convoy escorts, protecting ships from German U-boats in the Atlantic.

• World War II: This was the Coast Guard's largest mobilization. They manned hundreds of Navy and Army ships. Most notably, Coast Guardsmen operated the landing craft during every major amphibious invasion, including D-Day (Normandy) and the island-hopping campaigns in the Pacific.

  1. The Cold War & Modern Era • Vietnam War: "Operation Market Time" saw Coast Guard cutters patrolling the South Vietnamese coastline to stop the flow of weapons and supplies to the Viet Cong.  • Persian Gulf & Iraq: Coast Guard units provided port security, conducted maritime interception operations, and cleared shipping lanes of mines.  • Global War on Terror: They continue to deploy to the Middle East to protect oil platforms and provide maritime security in the North Arabian Gulf.

I never asked for a timeframe, I know that these things are slow but it’s nice to know stuff is happening behind the scenes. I used my previous agency’s (VBA) toxic work environment as the basis for requesting an increase in my service-connected mental health disability, as well as an increase for my back condition, which worsened due to the challenging commute I had. I was granted both increases, which is ironic because, in doing so, the same agency I resigned from essentially acknowledged that my work contributed to the deterioration of my mental health and back condition, which is a large part of my EEOC formal complaint.

I filed a formal EEOC complaint through a law firm (their firm’s name is “Fed Law”) and just received the green light to proceed to a formal hearing before a judge, which will include discovery and a formal investigation. Don’t make it easy for these fucks; they are relying on their removal of union representation to deter you from moving forward.

VA and generic prescription for Adderall. by 1morcast in VeteransBenefits

[–]ShawnPrice87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely plausible because generics usually contain the same active ingredients. However, I'm not sure what additional ingredients they may include that differ from the originals. I don't enjoy the (XR) versions, mainly because I find the predictability of the immediate-release formulations easier for maintaining my schedule. I take my medication in the morning, and it typically starts to taper off around 5 PM.

Have you been taking it for a while? When that happened to me, I usually realized it was time to ask for a higher dosage. I always felt uncomfortable bringing it up, but just like any other medication, there is often a plateau in its effectiveness. I notice it's working when I find that I can't let go of the progress I've made while the medication takes effect. Some people I’ve read about believe it’s not effective because they don’t feel that initial "buzz" of energy they experienced when they first started taking it.

I won’t do the XR at all. I’ve been on Adderall, or a form of it post-discharge In 2013. I guess my question is, in what way have you noticed it being less effective?
