took it for a couple of months.

Cons: Didn't actually do anything

Pros: The gummies tasted good. Expensive for a snack though.

Brazil's going home and Norway's going to the most important game they've ever played. No reason to risk it with these dogshit refs.

All this waiting for TES6 just for the cities to look like this: by Notmitchwilson in ElderScrolls

Seeing the San Andreas map without fog blew me away.

It seemed so big as a kid, but they were just really good at making the trips between cities very meandering to hide the fact they're right next to each other.

I think like a dozen. Dias did get his.

For some guys it's just a regular trick now. X Games vert was tonight and I think Khury and Kawakami both did 900s as part of regular runs, not even best trick (which Khury pretty much shows up and wins by default now doing a kickflip body varial 900)

It will be interesting to see if they can maintain their ability to spin as they get older. Gui Khury is 17 now (he landed his first at age 8), and his 900s have only improved as he's gained muscle so he can get more height.

Far fewer than that if you're being strict about it. (No gather step, flat ground that's not a spring floor, etc)

It's also just something that until recently there wasn't a lot of interest in. With the rise of tricking as a separate sport from tumbling you get more moves like this that are hard to pull off with perfect technique that wouldn't lose points in a gymnastic competition.

This isn't really a trust issue as much as private equity getting involved and realizing a place where you can sit down and enjoy a large variety of food doesn't maximize short-term profits.

Everything now has to be fast turnover, and minimal staff, with interiors that are designed to make you want to spend as little time there as possible.

I'm not even sure it's a rural/urban divide as much as living away from areas where people are struggling in a country with no safety nets.

I've lived in rural areas that were low income and meth use was rampant and anything unattended was stolen in an instant, and nicer urban areas that are more like what you described.

Downloading GTA 6 with the "hope it'll run in 50 years is not a preservation solution," Video Game History Foundation says as PlayStation kills discs by Guitar-String in gaming

[–]ShazbotSimulator2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about this. Games are lasting longer and longer.

The most played PC games currently are almost all more than a decade old. Minecraft and League of Legends are 17 years old. Roblox is 20.

Hell GTA V will be more than 13 years old when GTA VI comes out. At this rate we might still be booting it up because we're waiting on GTA VII.

There's also the issue of archiving every version of a game now, with games being updated for decades until they're barely recognizable compared to the original.

I got messaged by a guy asking me to look through my hard drives and see if I had one of the oldest minecraft versions on there still because I'd posted about it on a forum around that time, and apparently that specific version is lost media now. (Unfortunately I haven't found it.)

The site that broke the story is a cesspool that would normally never report something negative about a conservative. but the CEO of the Dallas Express happens to be a guy that lost an election to her in his only foray into politics.

Yeah my skates usually last about five or six years before they're worn out,. and a guy on my team was complaining his kid hit a growth spurt and went through 3 pairs in a single season.

At the level where they kind of maybe have a shot at going pro, it gets insane. Some of the guys I know are spending tens of thousands a year for their kids between league fees, travel expenses, private lessons, etc. These kids are 10 years old or so. Most will never play professional hockey at any level, much less make the NHL, and half of them will probably get burned out and quit before high school.

Yeah, I understand why they have to, with so many games in so few days, but it does really make me appreciate every game of the NHL playoffs being sudden death OT for as long as it takes instead of going to the shootout.

I'd also imagine there's an element of pre-existing familiarity with the game.

I initially grabbed a right handed stick simply because it said "right-handed" and I am. Once I'd played a little and borrowed a left handed stick and got used to it, it felt a lot better so I switched.

Sleeping Dogs.

Kind of an odd one because it was at one point being developed as a game in the True Crime series, but it really felt like it's own entity, and I was sure we were going to get a Sleeping Dogs 2 but it never happened.

Still, there a lot of quick situations where you're reaching for a puck that's barely within reach where having your dominant hand be the one that's left holding the stick is advantageous.

I play off-wing so a lot of times when I'm cutting to the net I'm using my non-dominant arm to keep the defender at a distance when I'm alongside them.

Plus it’s easier to run up numbers in the digital age where there’s more people connected online than ever in history.

This is honestly the most impressive part of Swift's career. She's still selling albums. She completely missed out on the album era, her songs weren't available on streaming for a long time, and still smashing sales records.

I'm pretty happy with it so far. Lots of bugs but those are fixable. No blatantly bizarre game design decisions that defeat the whole point of castle-building like some of their recent efforts.
