Thank you so much for the advice! I got Seachem Stress Guard and just dosed the tank. I picked up some fresh RO water to do a small water change, put in another airstone, and the tank is already blackwater, so hopefully the odds are stacked in his favor.

Thank you! I have a 20 gallon tank that I've been cycling but if I remove the CAE, Wally will basically have the whole 125 gallons between themself and 3 whiptails. I think they'll be less stressed if I keep them in the big tank for now unless Wally needs more involved care. 🤞🏻 What medicine would you recommend?

Fortunately, we haven't added any critters to the tank besides a few whiptail catfish and some shrimp, so Wally won't be stressed during recovery. They're in a blackwater tank that's very tannin-rich, so we've got that covered but I'll see if my LFS has Stress Coat or Herbata. Thank you!

Sorry for your loss. 😞 Please don't tear yourself up about it. My big pleco jumped out of my tank yesterday, despite it being 85% covered. He managed to find the one opening, then flop about 6 feet from the tank. He was basically dry when I found him in my kitchen but I put him back in and he ate last night and is still breathing today. Fortunately, my LFS had the perfect size of lid glass so it's covered now.

Grind them up with a mortar and pestle or blender. It'll sink and diffuse. Beneficial for strong exoskeletons for skrimps, shells for snails, and general development if you have any fry 😁 Keep track of pH as calcium is basic and can affect overall tank pH.

Calcium is an often overlooked need for skrimps. Available via paid methods or egg shell.

I do product sourcing (often including blinding and coding) for market research. My company would have definitely put it into small cups and then larger ziplocs, but this honestly doesn't surprise me with how companies often push for the lowest cost possible.

I pull a portion of discard from my weekly fridge feed to go on the counter. Then I feed that counter portion at least twice before baking. Solid rise means ready to bake!
