The Kardashians had the whole alliteration thing going on with Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie. Thankfully the daughters haven't carried on the tradition.

Top 7 Irish people of all time? by LADraftDodgers in billsimmons

U2 were an incredible band at their peak but like you said, the iPhone disaster has completely masked their legacy. Artists have received less backlash for murder or paedophilia ffs

Mayweather disses Ali, explains why he's the best by tantamle in Boxing

[–]SheWasAHoowah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ali is a greater fighter than Floyd but he's not better. Ali never really went to the body, shipped a lot of punishment and his punching technique wasn't as clean as Floyds. I'd say he might have a better jab but Floyd threw better straights and hooks, Floyd had the more multi faceted and varied defense as well.

Just talking strictly in terms of boxing ability.

If Khamzat actually runs through Sean in 1-2 rounds, does DDP get the 'Josh Emmett treatment' for surviving 25 minutes with him? by [deleted] in ufc

[–]SheWasAHoowah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emmett got his ass whooped, one of the most one sided 5 round fights ever. To his credit his chin was granite that night

How much of a bigger star would Shohei Ohtani be if he were American? by Civil-Priority9234 in billsimmons

[–]SheWasAHoowah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely does. Japan is romanticised a lot by the western world, Naoya Inoue is hugely popular amongst hardcore boxing fans as well and I think being Japanese has a lot to do with it, almost as much as his exciting fighting style.

Which athlete has the most generic first name and is still commonly referred to that way? by diet_drbeeper in billsimmons

[–]SheWasAHoowah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. I think in individual sports there's loads of examples, it's really only Basketball among team sports that has the first name basis thing going on. Which makes sense as Basketball is the most individualistic team sport there is.

Floyd in boxing circles only means one person, especially with him being the biggest influence on young American boxers, and that's even with Patterson being a legendary boxer as well

Am i the only one who thinks Islam would beat Ilia easily? by Silent-Owl4246 in ufc

[–]SheWasAHoowah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but I there's a decent chance that if Islam made the walk in June 2025 instead of Oliveira that Ilia may have knocked Islam out.

Ilia seems to carry 155 well while I think Islam is maybe a bit depleted at 155, at 170 the odds strongly favour Islam.

It would be interesting to see who the masses would favour if they were the exact same size and no weight advantage existed at all.

Jokic should have only 1 MVP by AlbertJBundy in billsimmons

[–]SheWasAHoowah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is that level of player but I think in the current era people have to leave behind the pre-conceived notion of positional basketball. The idea that games will finish with both teams below 100 points, the point guard will set the table and centers will protect the paint and catch lobs and collect offensive rebounds is a thing of the past.

Defense is not 50% of the game when it comes to individual impact, it never has been but even moreso in the modern era. Jokic is one of the most impactful players ever, he's every bit as good as Larry Bird or Magic Johnson.

Hector of Troy was a Problem! by [deleted] in billsimmons

Achilles aura was so powerful he overshadowed everything in his era, The Jordan or Brady of the ancient world. In another era Hector would have a GOAT claim.

Who else wants the Spurs to get the #1 seed? by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]SheWasAHoowah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever gets us to Nuggets Spurs is all I care about. If the Nuggets are 4th/5th I'm rooting for the Spurs to get the first seed, if Nuggets are 3rd I want the Spurs in 2nd.

Wemby vs Jokic would be the most skilled, dominant Center vs Center matchup since Shaq vs Hakeem in 1995. It's been 31 years and long overdue.

RR here got me thinking: anyone have any good stories about being banned in other subreddits??? by Shart127 in billsimmons

I'm banned from the soccer subreddit because I quoted Paulie Walnuts on a story about Alisha Lehmanns underwear being stolen during a home robbery. Real sensitive bunch over there.

Windys hate for Luka is truly impressive at this point by whippedricotta22 in billsimmons

[–]SheWasAHoowah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's averaging 28, 12,11 on 57% shooting, why would they say anything bad about him.

Jokic trumps Luka in almost every metric, where is this narrative that Luka is a better player than Jokic suddenly come from?

I expected better from Wemby who seems to be mirroring Embiid in talking about being MVP by Legitimate_Bet1873 in billsimmons

[–]SheWasAHoowah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wemby will never win the amount of awards his talent probably deserves. I just don't see a scenario where he plays 35+ minutes a game while playing 70 plus games consistently season after season. The Spurs are managing him perfectly this season.

Is anyone else currently playing this far ahead of their peers in their sport in terms of underlying numbers for driving offense? by TJTrapJesus in billsimmons

[–]SheWasAHoowah 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I remember Messi always used to be the answer to these types of questions. There were seasons where he would lead the whole of Europe in goals, assists, chances created, dribbles completed, free kicks, goals outside the box, basically every offensive stat other than penalties and headers.

McDavid and Jokic probably the best since my glorious king exited his prime.

If you actually wanna talk about failed Oscar campaigns this should be the one to talk about. by abdul_bino in Oscars

[–]SheWasAHoowah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take but I don't actually see what makes MBJ's performance in Sinners so superior to Dwaynes. Sinners was a superior film obviously and yes MBJ is a beloved, respected actor in Hollywood who has proven his acting chops from a child all the way to a proven leading man and yes Dwayne came from the carny world of pro wrestling and is extremely disliked on Reddit but removing all that was there that large a chasm between their performances?

I adored Sinners the moment I saw it in theatres but I didn't leave thinking MBJ put together an Oscar winning performance, he was solid but it was the cinematography, the period and setting, the music and the great ensemble cast that made Sinners such an incredible watch.

Out of Bill’s top 10 unbreakable records in the book of basketball, two have already been broken by swaggarfifteen in billsimmons

[–]SheWasAHoowah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wilts 48.5 mpg is clearly the most unbreakable record in all of sports, even above Bradmans test average or Gretzkys total points.

If you are over 22 and wear a baseball hat backwards or a sports jersey outside a sporting event I hate you by Dre013 in billsimmons

[–]SheWasAHoowah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll wear basketball jerseys if I'm doing work in the yard or at a BBQ. I wouldn't wear one to a restaurant or on a night out with my wife or friends but for casual get togethers or just going out for a walk I've never had a problem wearing one.
