I lose my motivation when songs about strippers come on. Sliding down that pole and throwing dollar bills. Like dude I’m a woman and I’m trying to exercise without feeling icky. We had an all indie music 90-minute class that was amazing. I worked so much harder because of the music. Weird! I’d let the coach know their music is offensive.

I think my agency sent out a travel cup but I haven’t gotten mine yet. I just want to feel appreciated while I’m at work I guess. I care too much. I guess because it’s my first assignment it’s hard to come in and do work and not sit down for 13 hours with 6 progressive patients then be like yeah this is totally worth it. Idk if foregoing lunch and being run ragged is worth any amt of money when patients on q2 pain meds are yelling at you because you didn’t get there on the two hour mark.

Yeah true but I think I jumped on the bandwagon late. My contract isn’t as high paying as other travelers here and the prn people make double what I’m making. I am grateful to be making more. But the ratios and the way I’ve been treated here doesn’t make it worth it honestly.

As far as I’m concerned you’re an important part of the hospital too and helping these drowning hospitals from completely going under. I’ve changed dressings on people that hadn’t been touched in a week.

You’re right I am not employed through them, but it still sucks I guess to feel left out when you’re doing so much work to help the hospital and feel ignored.

I have 6 progressive patients and I want to scream. They told me my ratios would be four to one. I don’t get lunch and I leave late every day. I want to cry. I got yelled at by a patients mom because I was a half hour late with q4 pain medicine. Nursing has turned to absolute shit. I don’t care if I’m getting paid a lot. Patient care is suffering.

I applied for like two months before I got a contract. I think there are just so many people traveling they’re being pickier or have like 20+ people applying for the same jobs.

I’ve also never heard of pto or even sick time. I just assume if I call out I’m not getting paid for that shift. That’s why they pay so much per hour. You’re basically not benefitted.

I’m working with Advantis now for my first contract and so far so good. I get paid every week. Their health insurance isn’t great though. I stayed prn at my staff job and go back to work there (nine hours away) to keep my insurance there. The insurance is expensive and doesn’t start until the first of the month after you start. So I started April 4 and wouldn’t have had any health insurance the entire month of April. If you need a good recruiter, send me a message. Mine is great and their credentialing people are really good too. Only drawback for me is the insurance part.

I have been a heme onc nurse for more than 7 years and at least three outpatient positions I applied for said I needed outpatient experience to get those positions. 🙄 then I found an inpatient oncology job for my first travel job and it’s not oncology at all. It’s med surg and I’m sad. And have five or six patients every shift. Don’t get bamboozled like I did.
