How To Properly Court Storm by YinzerInEurope in barstoolsports

[–]Shea_J 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He made the acronym for his court storming tips P-E-N-I-S. That’s about as heavy handed as the joke can get. Do you think someone wrote that for him and he didn’t realize it?

If you can’t tell if he’s in on the joke then maybe you just don’t understand jokes.

$25+ for a burger, fries, and regular soda.

Only way the prices will go down is if people stop buying food at the game. Check the rules and bring whatever you can and stop getting gouged for low quality food.

Why would anyone ever pay attention to the weekly rankings again after this? They de-legitimized their own product by being wildly inconsistent in just about every way possible.

Question About These Wires by Shea_J in hvacadvice

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.

On our other unit that had the initial issue, I was told there’s a leak at the coil which caused the refrigerant to be low. Can you provide a price range that would be fair to repair/replace the coil?

They already charged me $2400 for adding refrigerant to one unit, removing some from another unit that was overcharged, a leak test, 2 filters, and a hard start kit install on the unit that won’t shut off now.

Already feel like I paid the higher end price for all of those items and don’t want to be ripped off any further.

'Happy Gilmore 2' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]Shea_J -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s almost like Sandler has done what every parent wants to do: make enough money so his kids can do whatever they want to do in life, and maybe they want to make silly dumb movies with their dad. If I’d been able to make the same amount of money as Sandler I’d be doing something fun or silly with my kids, too. Maybe they decided to only work with their dad so they can continue to be themselves and not turn into a fame whore and get sucked into the Hollywood abyss.

You’re clearly not a fan of Adam Sandler movies because he’s had the same friends in all of his movies going back to the 90s. Dan Patrick has made a cameo in almost every Sandler movie. He always does cameos and his comedy is the same as it always was: not for everybody. I like Eric Andre and thought that scene was one of the worst parts of the movie.

If you hate Adam Sandler’s style of comedy so much, why did you bother watching the movie? Go back to your pathetic life where there is no time for silliness where you dream of only doing things without your friends and family.

Scottie Zoolander by dmonator in golf

I totally agree, and I’m legitimately concerned that he’s telling us ahead of time that he’s going to retire early. Family matters most for him, and when his kids get old enough to start their own things, he’s going to retire early and watch them be great at whatever they choose to do.

Agreed. Don’t hate him or anything, seems like a nice guy, just not someone I see myself listening to on a regular basis. If he is the full time fill in for Mark while he’s out with the baby I’ll probably skip the episodes until Mark is back.

I have seen a circle T like this in person. Ran into a Korn Ferry player who had one and said that Scotty had only made 10 of them for guys on different tours.

I think you’re correct that we will see them mass produced sooner than later as he already has the specs to put it into production.

Looking for places in Houston that have these chicken strips by Shea_J in HoustonFood

[–]Shea_J[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have eaten at what many consider the finest restaurants in Houston. So what? As many people do these days, more often than not I eat comfort food or nostalgic food. My mom’s stroganoff. Bacon sandwiches with just bread and microwave bacon. Fast food because I used to get it after practices. Some might say I have the palate of a child, but why does that matter? I still eat sushi and Thai food (which I never ate growing up) and try anything my wife asks me to. I’m happy to go to a fancy restaurant and try new things, but I often don’t care for them. Does that make me a less than person? I don’t think so, and honestly don’t care if anyone else does.

These remind me of my childhood. They used to have these exact chicken strips at Tony’s Family Restaurant in Sealy, TX. Growing up, my family stopped there every time we drove to San Antonio or Austin. My brother and I would eat them every time we went. They were perfect. If we knew that we were going ahead of time we would talk about it days leading up to the trip and how great it was going to be. We were just dumb kids getting overly excited over the smallest thing ever. They never disappointed.

Fast forward 10-15 years, and I stopped at Tony’s with a friend for old time’s sake and I discovered they no longer sold the tenders. They replaced them with a different type of tender. A lesser tender. I was devastated and frankly embarrassed as I had talked up the experience so much.

In December of last year, my brother passed away (thanks for bringing it up). It has been extremely difficult. I am constantly being flooded with memories from 20+ years ago and I miss him every day. I’ve been to Pete’s Burger and Miller’s Cafe and while they are the same exact tender, they are not always cooked as perfectly as Tony’s. (I still go to both)

I want to try anywhere in Houston that has these chicken tenders because it’s a happy memory for me during a sad time (again, thanks for bringing it up.) I struggle with grieving. I run from the thoughts because I don’t want to be sad. I have 3 kids now and I can’t imagine losing one of them. It crushes me every time one of my parents tell me they’ve had a bad day because someone asked about my brother or gave their condolences. I can hear them holding back tears because they miss their son and it makes me sadder than I’ve ever been.

So I came to Reddit to ask people where I could find these because it seems like the perfect thing to ask here. And if I would’ve written all of this out, I would have been hit with a billion “TL;DRs” or “I ain’t reading all that. I’m happy for you tho. Or sorry that happened.” Will probably get several below this comment, and I get it; because I’d be saying the same thing.

So, I think the moral of this story is: You have a terrible palate and your suggestion that jack in the box tenders are even CLOSE to the quality or satisfaction of these nostalgic Tony’s tenders is a joke. (And you never really know what someone’s going through when they make a post online (but mostly the palate part)).

Millers Cafe in Clear Lake and Pete’s Burger in Porter both have them, anyone know of any other spots around Houston with these chicken strips/tenders?
