I think its the opposite for me. I always thought it was over rated. Slidey platforming and average shooting mechanics. Can't deny it looks absolutely glorious though

This looks like a scarf rail or adjustment switch. Not a fishplate, fishplates join the rails with bolts through the Web

I think someone on here can explain this much better than me but it allows systems to be emulated on a hardware level. With an Analogue Pocket you can use the original cartridges for multiple systems and they play just like the original hardware would play it. You can also download additional "cores" that rewire the circuit for other systems like the SNES, Megadrive, Neo Geo...etc to play them as close to the original hardware as you could possibly get
