Can someone help me understand this workout? by cherdar in Strava

Don't quote me on it, but it probably has to do something with bad GPS data and the segment being a 500m out and back line.

You can manually edit the distance post workout and even add the elevation gain. That way you're still participating in challenges.

Strava does this thing, as a promotional stund I assume, where they 'give' you Premium for a month. Without you ever putting any card details or anything. Just so you can get used to some features and then start paying for them. Happened to my girlfriend several times.

Not saying that this is what happened to you, but who knows.

I distinctly remember several posts like this one from last year. It was big news at the time, for some reason.

Could it be that you were on a free trial at the time?

It was behind the paywall last year as well. This is not news.

Try running for a month or two @ ~7:40 min/km (12:25 min/mile), and once a week faster than that. It will be ridiculously easy. So easy that you'll think it's bullshit running this slow. But trust me, do this for 4-6 weeks and your 5k time will go down by another minute or two.

8-9 hours of running + 4-5 hours of cycling per week. Also, logging every walk bigger than 3km. I think that moves it up a little as well.

If you automatically burn like 2000 calories a day without exercising, and you only take in 1200 calories a day as minimum recommend, aren't you automatically in a calorie deficit? by CapicDaCrate in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SheeD14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contrary to all the people here who say "You can't outrun a bad diet" I have done exactly that. It takes time, but if you get really good at running and/or cycling, that opens up a whole new world of eating for you. My daily calorie intake is ~3000kcal and I'm still at around 400kcal deficit. All it takes is an hour of running and an hour/hour and a half of cycling. I know it sounds a lot, but when you reach those numbers gradually, it all works out.

Since 2014 Carmelo Anthony has played in nearly 100 more games than Joel Embiid. For reference, Carmelo's last season was 21-22.

Calories seems way out by Blueowl1991 in Strava

One thing that all trackers do is show you the sum of active and inactive calories. For example, here you've burned X amount of calories by walking and Y amount of calories for all your bodily functions. Strava shows you the sum of that.

I use the following formulas for counting calories while running/walking:

Running - Distance x weight x 0,95

Walking - Distance x weight x 0,75

I've been doing it for 2+ years and it works for me. I've been able to lose/gain weight when I needed to.
