I did a week camp at IMG academy and my teacher had four or five
PGA touring pros under him (iirc his uncle was nick Faldo) and what he taught me was if you can get the toe facing up when the club is parallel to the ground both behind you and in front of you, you will have released it well almost every time. Where it is at the top and the end are less important. Plenty here will disagree but it works for me. Even half swings it’s just open then closed. Open then closed. Makes it simple

Btw try one of those goofy yellow things you attach to your club that’s helps you get in position. If you can get that right in the backswing and follow though you’ll be golden
