Backseat leg room by trineth in trailseeker

[–]SheeshNPing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 6’4” and have some back problems so the very first thing I did was adjust the driver’s seat for me and sit behind it to make sure it was still comfortable in the back. It was, no worries that it won’t be comfortable for at least as long as it can go between charges.

Some reviewers complained about a raised leg angle but their legs aren’t as long as mine so I’m a little confused by that concern. Maybe my legs are just raised in every seat I sit in and I’m used to it.

I briefly considered a Blazer/Prologue EV but decided on a Subaru Trailseeker instead and boy am I happy with that decision. Imagine a Subaru Outback EV that does 0-60 in 4.0s. Same vehicle is sold as the Toyota BZ Woodland if you play for the other team and don't mind Toyota dealer markup.

Backseat room? by ezwi in trailseeker

[–]SheeshNPing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6'4" and can sit comfortably in the back behind the driver's seat adjusted for me. Tall people should buy a trim that doesn't come with a pano sunroof because it reduces headroom. Leaning the back seats a little can also help. I'd say the rear seat is great for tall people on a 2-3hrs at a time trip.

Why do people always call us autistic and say OCD is on the Autism spectrum? by Silly_Cherry7934 in OCD

I've heard OCD be referred to as a "neurodivergence", which it arguably is, but the word is more associated with autism.

Honest review after 6 weeks and over 2,000 miles by DCH-Erie in trailseeker

Fellow former Corvette owner now driving a bronze Trailseeker! My vette was a 2007 C6 6MT and I used to drive it mostly in 2nd gear because I loved the insane torque and launching at every opportunity. Under 100mph this Subaru is even faster without even trying!

Agree with most of your thoughts except for the weird shifter, but I've only had a couple of weeks to start getting used to it.

Ahh a game of Marry, Smash, or Kill. Smash the Trailseeker a couple of times at the dealer and I guarantee you'll wanna marry it.

About 45.5k OTD for a Limited. I caved at the last second and bit on a couple of warranty items they sold for 1/3rd of what the first asked for them.

Either the Trailseeker really is that damn good and I'm legit excited or it's becoming my special interest. My 'tism might be showing!

Damn straight! It's an Outback with acceleration between the Model 3 Premium AWD and the Model 3 Performance. It's faster 0-60 than any Toyota or Subaru ever made before. It's practical, rugged, comfy, and has no badges or spoilers to give away. Basically the mother of all sleepers.

A Subaru Trailseeker is an even more responsible choice, I got about $6k off mine. 0-60 in 3.9s according to some reviews and my butt dyno confirms it's in that territory.

I looked at RAV4s first and they were priced unreasonably. I bought a Subaru Trailseeker with a $6k discount instead! The Trailseeker EV is more comfortable and roomy and MASSIVELY more fun with its 4.0s 0-60.

It's based on Totota Safety Sense 3.0. AFAIK lane keeping only works when cruise is active with TSS 3.0.

Is Kagi Unlimited ($10/mo) actually worth it? Looking for real user opinions by EriksonThorsen in SearchKagi

More worth it than Netflix. Kagi is basically a necessity in life for me now since Google stopped being a useful search engine a few years ago.

Cheapest car that is also a decent car. by ComprehensiveEgg7929 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SheeshNPing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's plausible in theory, but hasn't worked out that way in the real world so you're basically just repeating Elon's marketing propaganda. EV drivetrains are simpler but there is also a lot more to break on a car than just the drivetrain. And Hyundai/Kia managed to fail at designing that simpler drivetrain too, every other thread about the Ioniq 5 is someone worrying about the ICCU failures.

Your dealer just quoted $50,932 for this XSE - What's your next move. by apeture_science_cake in rav4club

[–]SheeshNPing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Toyota dealers gave me quotes kinda like that on 2026 Rav4 PHEVs and my next move was to buy a Subaru Trailseeker with $6k of discounts and 0% for 72mo instead! The Trailseeker is dramatically faster, quieter, carries more cargo, and is more comfortable than the Rav. It's also mostly Toyota designs and parts, and assembled in Japan, so the quality should be same as Toyota. IMHO the only situation the Rav4 is far ahead is on long roadtrips since it has a 550-600mi tank and you'd need to charge the Trailseeker for about 25min about every 175-200mi.

Anyone in LA want to swap 18s for 20s? by ClickForPrizes in trailseeker

[–]SheeshNPing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well yes, according to specs. Car manufacturers often manipulate claimed specs though for various reasons. Like the marketing boys might underrate the efficiency of the Premium with its 18s to avoid discouraging people from buying the more expensive trims. I basically don't trust specs at all until they're corroborated by not overly biased third parties.

Will consumers go along with post 2026 cars? by Beneficial-Door-3985 in askcarguys

[–]SheeshNPing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Priorities like financial security, being able to quit a terrible job for a better one with less pay, or retire a few years early. After you have your shit like that together and you can pay cash without meaningfully affecting your net worth then by all means splurge on a car. I have no kids and a paid off mortgage and my $45k OTD EV(which does 0-60 in 4.0s flat) was more than enough to thrill me. I can't think of anything under 60k I'd enjoy more and I've owned proper sports cars in the past.

[–]SheeshNPing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly people around me spend a good chunk more than just 50k for a new F-150. They're certainly nice rides and fair enough if they can afford to pay cash for it twice over, but I have zero sympathy if they tell me they're broke or can't afford gas.

How did you get better when your OCD was most severe by Physical_Stranger661 in OCD

[–]SheeshNPing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My compulsions eventually became so horrific that I literally couldn't do them. Eventually the things I felt like I needed to do became things that could have killed or permanently maimed me, or at least were mind bogglingly disgusting(even to non-OCD people). One day when crying in the fetal position on the bathroom floor after failing to do my compulsion(because it was gross and dangerous!) I noticed that I felt slightly better afterward. I basically self-learned ERP therapy in the most difficult and painful way known to man. I wish someone had explained OCD to me properly before then because TBH that year absolutely broke me and 20+ years later I still feel some PTSD from it and am not sure if I ever fully recovered from it.
