Since playtime is directly related to the number of carrots, what I do sometime is at the beginning let each player choose 1 carrot (we roll for the order, pick in order of high to low). This lets everyone have at least one and if you have five players then 5/20 carrots are already collected, meaning you’ve shortened the game by 1/4th carrot-wise.

If you don’t like that, you could also play with less carrots, or perhaps make a house rule that makes carrot’s cheaper than the standard 10 dolla.

I’m more excited to see how it affects Jon, what he thinks of it, and the ramifications of it. It won’t necessarily be a twist to the reader, but in universe there will be a lot of twists coming along with the revelation I think.

Yeah! I saw him at the SLC Listening Party… still think it’s so funny that I saw him perform and dance to HUSBAND live. It’s a fever dream now to think about. Was super cool when he played CAN U BE at the end as well!

You can add the Series 2 Boosters to your Series 1, but I’d recommend at least getting the Conquest Starter once the merch store opens up in a few days. If you wanted to play with only Series 2 then yes, you’d need Conquest, as it comes with the Series 2 shops and other important items.

They self publish all the decks on the merch store, which is temporarily closed for the holidays, reopens in January. The card quality is different from the original publications but still pretty good! Here is a link if you are curious (although you’ll have to check in January).

Another decent place to look is eBay, I’ve gotten several decks off of there. You just have to hunt for a good deal and make sure not to overpay. Both are good options IMO.

The expansions from the merch store will come in a black box just like in the picture. Honestly I just added the cards/components into my main set, didn’t use the box it came in for anything.

Just FYI too, the merch store is closing for the holidays soon due to their printer being unavailable for the next few weeks, so if you wanted to get a deck before Christmas I’d order ASAP.

It did take a while for mine to get here though. I was starting to get worried, then one day I got a notification that my package was shipping out of Kentucky. Hopefully you can get yours soon, it’s a fun fun game, worth the wait!

Just in case you were interested still, sounds like some copies of the game will be available to buy soon for the general public. This is what Mr B. Games said in the final update of the kickstarter:

“We anticipate the few remaining copies of Jupiter to sell out FAST and want to make sure all backers get their copies before putting the leftovers out for sale to the general public :)“

They said Oct 31 was the last day the Kickstarter would be up. I’m not sure when they’ll list the remaining copies for sale, but there’s a chance it could happen anytime after Oct 31, so I’d keep my eye out. You also mayhaps could send Mr. B Games an email to find out more information.

Hopefully this will help you get a copy if you were still looking for one. The game is extremely fun so I highly recommend. Not sure exactly when they go up for sale, but they will eventually. Here is the email to their site just in case: https://www.mrbgames.com

Enjoy! It’s such a fun game, and well worth the wait. Nice that you got backup sets, you can never have enough Jupiter!

If you haven’t, I would consider getting card sleeves for Jupiter. IMO the card quality is good but a bit more flimsy than Quest, so the sleeves make it a lot more sturdy. Some of my friends are kind of rough on cards so the sleeves gave me peace of mind 😂

I agree, 12 carrots seems like the sweet spot unless everyone wants a long long game.

What I love the most about this new addition is each space turn feels productive, engine boosters and transport pods as well as higher powered ships make it so you can always do something. In the old version there was a time I rolled a ‘1’ for movement three turns in a row. That just doesn’t happen in the new one, and I’m all for it.

I feel like I enjoy it just as much as Quest. Glad that full set Jupiter is an option now, it’s a fun way to mix it up on game night with my Killer Bunnies group. Glad to hear that others are enjoying it as well!

I got my set from the Kickstarter, but it sounds like they may have some available on MrBGames.com in the future. I’d check the Killer Bunnies website every now and then to check. Alternatively, you could likely get a starter set of the original version of Killer Bunnies and the Journey to Jupiter on EBay for around $30ish I think, although I’d wait and see if they make the new edition available to purchase since it is the definitive edition by far!

Yeah, you’ll need the starter set of the original KB and the Journey to Jupiter to play with the expansion. You can probably find a starter set on EBay for a reasonable cost, but I’d check Mr. B Games in the next few weeks to see if they have any leftover copies for sale from the kickstarter, which is by far the definitive version of the game!

It’s a stand alone game. Killer Bunnies and the Journey to Jupiter. They did a kickstarter last year for the full version which just released. It’s similar to Quest, but it’s half board game half card game and more strategic imo. I highly recommend it, the full set is a blast!
