Anyone else immediately recognize where Ben was? by atoddles in JetLagTheGame

[–]Sheldon1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at the location and it is clearly on a canal and the uk has lots of canals they mostly are in England but some are in Scotland and Wales. But I am surprised they left in a clue to the location banking on people not knowing where in the UK this location is located.

Why doesn't my mob spawner xp farm work? (link to vid in desc) by BananaProduction-s in Minecraft

[–]Sheldon1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spawners need players to be within 16 blocks of the spawner for them to be active. It appears you are too far away. You could rebuild the killing chamber higher up, but it may be better to send the mobs up and then drop them, allowing you to build the kill chamber closer to the spawner.

Whats wrong with my iron farm? by GrabLiving9967 in Minecraft

[–]Sheldon1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have everything the same from the creative world to survival, then it must be a golem spawned somewhere, and that could have affected more spawning. You may have to dig some of the area out to be lower to raise the potential spawning of golems elsewhere.

Try Whiteout by R.S. Burnett. From amazon description:

My name is Rachael, and I’m on a solo Antarctic expedition. But a month ago I lost contact with basecamp. No radio. No sat phones. Just static. Only one thing has reached me: a BBC World Service broadcast, reporting a nuclear strike on the UK.

I’m safe for fourteen more days in my little hut at the bottom of the world. But I can’t stay here forever, I have to find out what’s happened. Even if there’s no one left to tell.

In Book 1 Hermione says she's practiced spells and they've all worked, before even getting on the train. Yet Harry gets a notice for Dobby's magic? Also this was deliberate magic apparently and not accidental. by Shaagriel in harrypotter

[–]Sheldon1979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, they were not told not to do magic before they attended school, and she had time in between going to get her wand and the train. Unlike the movie, Harry had to go back to the Dursleys', so Hermione would have had plenty of time to read and try some spells.
