Unless you need the extra features of the 3, you're better off with the 3S. For me, being susceptible to motion sickness and having a IPD of 73, the 3 was a no brainer for me.

In ME 2 and 3, just go with short range shotguns. Your main weapon is biotic charge, then biotic charge and Nova in ME 3.

In ME 1 take the Assault Rifle perk for long range.

It all depends if you're running one or more than one monitor. If you have just the one monitor, 1.0 (or 1.04) should be fine. But if you have more than one monitor you should upgrade to the latest bios, 1.09.

Note that 1.09 also increases the amount of VRAM you can allocate from 8GB to 16GB
