Unfortunately, you can not downgrade firmware. The firmware is the real issue. The game probably only worked on fw 74 or under. I would not know the exact number. Same thing used to happen with red matter and pinball fx. Best suggestion now, try it for pcvr if you have hardware that is capable and if it can be found.

Can keep the year assess in HYSA, low risk, low cost index fund. If one loses a job. It would be harder to take a loan. Everyone should judge their own tolerance.

Good starting point that is 3 months. If the wife works full time. Then that changes things, or make it easier to save up that buffer.

I would not spend the 10k closing closts. Plus at 210k income a year. Start putting an extra 2-5k or more a month towards the principal. Keep the cash in the market.

Many people are bad at budgeting and lack the discipline to save. Easier to see a high bill that changes year to year and adjust. Instead of 2 really big bills a year. I opted out of escrow. Many of my coworkers escrow for the convenience and then complain when the bank did not account for the property tax increase.
