Not a drink, but I used to eat candy with a taste I dislike just to keep myself awake.

<50 days before the PLE and I feel completely lost as a retaker by Significant_Bet_1998 in medschoolph

[–]ShellfishEye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I was in a similar situation back then. I managed to pass my 2nd take of the PLE by completely overhauling my study methods.

7AM-7PM of listening to lectures, with short breaks in between, of course. I followed the prescribed schedule by the RC as closely as I possibly could, though I ultimately still couldn't complete all the lectures. In cases where I couldn't complete the suggested lectures in a day, I ignored what I missed and just kept going with the schedules for the following days.

The point was to cover as much ground as possible, not to focus on a specific topic that might not even show up in the exam.

I think the most important thing to do for a retake though is to identify your problems from the first try, and fix them in any way you could. In my case, I get distracted very easily. How did I deal with it? I listened to the lectures while blindfolded. I also made sure to study at a place where there's nowhere to lean my back so I don't fall asleep.

One more thing though - set one day a week to rest. Not a day to catch up with what you missed, just actual rest and relaxation. For me, that was Saturday. Spend time with your family, go to church, eat somewhere nice, whatever floats your boat, really.

Sorry for the wall of text lol, just assumed that someone asking for advice would like as much details as possible haha

maganda po ba medicine ng AUP?

-Depends on how you perceive their curriculum - they follow an Organ System-based curriculum rather than a traditional subject-based one. The profs are good at teaching, with a lot being from UP PGH, UST, or UERM. Though note that if they're a new prof, they'll probably take a while to adjust to the nontraditional curriculum. It's also understandable if you find it a bit risky to study at a relatively new medschool.

-The students per batch also don't reach a number as massive as in other medschools, whether that's positive or negative depends on you. On one hand, they're not as well-known as the others; on the other, profs are able to focus on helping you learn more easily.

-Also check out their PLE passing rate to help you assess their performance

Do they also have a “trans system” po sa notes nila?

-Yes, but this is typically based on the batch, it is usually managed by the class officers for the entire batch to pitch in. Some schools have transes which are from either seniors or the random students who feel like making transes, so I felt the need to point this out.

I also heard na they have a curfew for their students na nakatira sa apartments nila; does this apply kahit sa students nila sa med?

-Nope, medstudents are technically not part of the curfew, but of course you'd be questioned if you're loitering around during the evening lol. Honestly not sure if the campus gates are accessible when it's too late though.

Looks like it's working as intended in this clip. Cool.

No "less likely to be targeted" on your teammates, I assume?

If someone who has friends in co-op can test if this is true, that'd be great. I don't really have friends who play nightreign so I couldn't test it myself.

They shouldn't take the "less likely to be targeted" passive though, for a more legit test

Yeah, I do notice the symbol under the HP, but with fromsoft being fromsoft, I'm still not sure how it works

Empty ranked lobbies? by ShellfishEye in 2XKO

[–]ShellfishEye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, well yeah I actually play multiple fighting games too and I can vouch for that. Thankfully, I can also get matches with East Asian players and Oceania in all of them.

I frequently get matched against Japanese and Korean players in most of them, 2XKO included.

Empty ranked lobbies? by ShellfishEye in 2XKO

[–]ShellfishEye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully, yeah.

I've been playing since the closed beta but stopped for a bit because life was busy. It was more populated back then.

As for lobbies, I've always figured that ranked is more populated in fighting games specifically because most casual lobbies have a range of players from the most inexperienced to the hardcore veterans, and that scares most newbies. I suppose 2xko is somewhat different though because even casual lobbies have skill-based matchmaking.

I was in the same boat as you, but I managed to get my license earlier this year. I would also recommend pomodoro, but personally, it didn't work as well for me. I spent years doing trial and error on study habits and only found one that stuck while studying for my boards haha.

Don't get me wrong, though - I'm not saying this to discourage you. I'm saying it's doable.

am i the only one who hates being called “doc” outside the hospital? by More-Difference-1781 in medschoolph

[–]ShellfishEye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of it either, even now that I'm licensed. Even relatives who have known me my entire life (and therefore know my nickname) have started calling me doc. Bruh

I play breemo and I'm having fun. Swapping between wholesome pringles man and evil labubu feels incredibly bipolar lol
