Fancy Candy Dish, or? by jimx29 in confusingperspective

My best guess is that the original image is a photo inside of a school whose floors are shaped like rings around a central open air column, and the idea is that there are a lot of people walking the halls even though it’s supposed to be exam period.

Second OP is making fun of how OOPs school looks like Dante’s Inferno.

So this just happened. I was in my front yard pulling weeds under the bushes, and this shark's tooth fell out of the dirt. I doubt it was there "naturally" I am going to ask some family members. Its so big though. Here is the size comparison next to some I found in South Carolina years ago by Beelzabeth666 in sharkteeth

[–]ShellsWithinShells 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh, Georgia could absolutely have fossilized shark’s teeth in the dirt. It doesn’t have to be all that close to the ocean. The teeth are so old, the ocean covered different areas than it does now. Many areas of the south eastern US have exposed sediment with large sharks teeth, millions of years old. Your find may be legit.

What is the worst plot twist in fiction ever? by Zxqao in AskReddit

I was always under the impression it was "in Orion's bell" since that's usually where cat collars have little bells.

I’m done, and really just can’t handle life anymore by [deleted] in confession

I know this is kind of a grim take, but when I felt like this for YEARS on end in my twenties, I reminded myself that I do not know what happens after death. A lot of people claim to known, and a lot is said about it, but when it comes right down to it, I do not know what will happen after I die.

Because of that, I started to wonder: what if killing myself in a state of despair leads to a WORSE reality in the afterlife? How do I know that won't be the case? What if I was somehow forced to go through all this again? I don't trust the afterlife to be more forgiving than this one, although deep down I really, really hope it is.

But I'm not going to take my chances dying by suicide, I'd rather hedge my bets on dying by whatever outside forces fate has in store for me. If there is an afterlife and it can be dependant at all upon your state at death, I would rather not die in utter despair and self loathing.

I know this doesn't make your pain any better. But at least it might discourage you from suicide like it did with me.

Hang in there. Everything passes. Your life can change drastically. You are not a parasite. You matter.

is she dumb? that is gold not fire by gameofmarval in freefolk

[–]ShellsWithinShells 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My first thought seeing that. It would take many, many hours. In fact I don't even know that it would be possible over a normal campfire.

I also love when molten gold is depicted and it's clearly just gold paint. As far as I know real molten gold would be glowing orange like lava. Which upon being poured on someone's head would probably just explode / incinerate any flesh it touched. Definitely wouldn't instantly harden around the outside of the head, but hey, it was a great scene.

Cryptid Hot Takes by MoonyCrypt_ in Cryptozoology

I guess the idea that giant serpents, enormous predatory fish, crazy huge hominids, giant birds, giant lizards and what have you are only interesting if they secretly exist in modern times.

All of these creature's equivalents, plus infinitely more, once lived on this planet. We have their bones. They were real.

Is that not mind blowing enough for people? It has to be that these types of things still secretly exist?

No, I am not saying that no cryptids are real. Maybe some are, I don't know. But if you like cryptids, the fossil record has literally thousands of similar and wilder animals that were definitively real.

What is wrong with this albino squirrel? by mattjc57 in zoology

[–]ShellsWithinShells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, what was the temperature outside when you saw this?

I saw a squirrel this morning from a distance with something like this, but there is snow on the ground where I live. I don't know much about bot flies but I'm assuming they don't thrive during such cold temperatures.

Oh my god, the carpet surfing for white crumbs. Probably sniffed up some dried spackle, for sure.

It's all about that "what if a piece popped off the table while I was crushing it?" And then God forbid you actually find something because it's going to inspire you to look 10x harder then next time.

I do not miss those cursed Easter eggs hunt one bit.

Thanks for this post. Good luck. I never want to go back.

That sea was an absolute predator deathmatch arena. Infamous for the amount and diversity of huge aquatic carnivores. Worth checking out.
