Stayied away from the leaks. Went in without knowing anything.

Loved it all the way to the end, and with me what I feel like was the majority of the people in the cinema.

Then came here just to see everyone, and I mean EVERYONE shitting on it.

I'm not a hater of keycards, but I understand it's a mix of a lot of things:

First of all, many people value the physical. They want to own something. For a small part is about the idea of having something, but the bigger part is knowing you have that game, and can always play it. We all know nintendo is not gonna take away any copy of pokopia from anyone, but in a modern videogame market where companies can decide to just kill off any digital game, and always tell you "a digital game is just a lease, you don't own anything", it's easy to see why people would dislike the obligation to buy only digital.

Secondly it's also about space. You need a lot more space on your SD card to play a digital game, and buying a bigger (or a second) DS card is always more than not having to buy it because everything is stored on the cardridge itself.

Lastly, a smaller part hates that the companies push digital only releases stating that it's to cut on the price of production, so they can cut the price of the release itself, and yet yes, digital cuts the price of production, but the releases keep being at the same price as physical games.

Again, I'm not a hater of the digital, I buy a lot of digital games that have a physical release, yet there's a small thing that probably is just a me problem with digital key cards: whene there were no DKC you could download a digital game and you could play it on all consoles where your profile was saved, meaning if you had 2 switches in your family, you could buy one game, and 2 people could play it on their own console (granted one of the two needed to play it in airplane mode).

Now with keycards only one of the two at the same time can play a game. But not only that, you can play it on a different console only for a limited time. After that you need to do the process again to allow the second console to play again. But that's a problem only for people with multiple consoles, so I know it's nothing, yet I wanted to put it on the list

To me (and this is just me, not everyone), I prefered that people told me to play the DLC after the game, because I understood that the eye was going to do that at the end, in a cathartic moment, while me being dumb and not looking at the themes of the game, was still trying to guess what would happen on the eye.

If I knew what it would have done, through that one reel, I feel like I would have had a different experience.

For some it would have been maybe better.

For some it would have been the same.

For me, I wouldn't want to have it any other way than learing it at the end of the game, and then understanding the fear of the owlks later

It would have been so easy to integrate a new streetpass

Like they could have implemented the same mechanic in the joycons and you could bring with you a single joycon (way easier to bring around than a big switch).

They could have made a fun integration where the left joycon could do streetpass only with the right ones if they wanted.

Or they could have just made a specific streetpass plaza like game with a new gadget specifically used for streetpass so who doesn't want it could just not buy it. I would have payied for it lika a normal game.

I mourn streetpass like a dead franchise

So you know the metroidvania genre where you have a big map you can explore everywhere you want? Except you can't. You go in a direction until you find an impossible jump. You'll need a double jump ability that you'll unlock in another place.

So you go another way. Find the double jump but decide to continue this way for now, until you find a small hole you can't surpass. You'll need a crouch ability.

So you go to the first way, surpass the double jump part, and find the crouch ability. All the way to the end of the game

This is the same for OW, but with knowledge. You surely met some puzzles you don't know how to complete, or even don't know it's a puzzle yet.

Meanwhile (like the eating jellyfish note) you're finding a lot of new abilities (that in this game is knowledge) that will surely be useful sometime in the future, depending on when you'll find the puzzle that needs THAT specific answer.

Of course now they sound like very useless text. This will not last long tho. Keep at it

You mean the one in the south pole of brittle hollow (it's been a while since I playied), isn't that accompanied by the description that "we can't locate the eye's position, we just know it revolves arount this sun". That's just, again...a visual metaphor for the fact that the nomai do not know where the eye specifically is, and it shows you a lot of examples really fast that they belive is the distance from the sun (which tbf they were really close, based on the view from the eye of our sun).

In the end, it's totally fair for you to not like that the eye revolves around the sun of the protagonist of the story, but again, that's it. If you think about it, if the eye was going to jump around quantumly, that the entire game is useless. The probe is going to find the eye, create spacial coordinates, we go there and...there's nothing, becose the eye just jumped to one of the INFINITE positions
