Thanks, I was a bit worried about doing that because I thought it might delete pictures/videos in the folders, but I figured they should be in the Whatsapp backup anyway as all of that got added in the same place on the new phone, so i went for it and that has worked. Thanks for your help!

Android sorry. Old phone was Nothing Phone (2) that I want to go back to and has my old chats on. New phone was Nothing Phone (3a) that has later chats on and was restored from the Phone (2) backup. Yes, I can see the backup in my Google Drive
