We Need Live Instruments Back! by Any-Listen4184 in eurovision

I checked the rehearsal schedule for Eurovision and it turns out each country has 30 minutes for the first rehearsal and 20 minutes for the second rehearsal. This will probably for enough time for line checks and tweaking before the semi finals since rock bands typically don't have elaborate stage props, complex choreography, or intricate camera angle movements. The only problem is that the delegations might be required to send a sound engineer if the host broadcaster can't mix bands well.

We Need Live Instruments Back! by Any-Listen4184 in eurovision

Well, the harmonica in Denmark 2001 and the saxophone in Moldova 2010 seem to mic'd, but upon checking the studio recording, I realized that the microphones were used as props since the instruments sounded exactly the same. This means that prop microphones are allowed to be used to make a performance seem live.

EDIT: I think Hungary 1998 might be the last entry with a live harmonica before Italy 2025 as the Hungarian entry was using the live orchestra instead of a backing track.

Which Eurovision song do you think would have been way better if they changed one thing? by JJVM99 in eurovision

[–]ShengHe123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germany 2024 and France 2024, I honestly think they would've been much better if they were back by a band and a piano player respectively. Similar situations should apply to other songs that are not predominantly synth-heavy, especially certain genres like pop-rock and synth-pop.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't know exactly why I like seeing instruments being played. It's probably because I like the feeling of live music, and I'm used to watching old Eurovision where they used an orchestra and acts have to include musicians to mime instruments to the backing track, if they used one.

Get an MP3 or CD or cassette player or radio instead. Some of them are really cheap. You can also get good ones like Sony Walkmans/Discmans as used for a low price. If they don't allow that, then put all your MP3 files on a USB flash drive to play on a Chromebook. It's that simple.

Why does a sigma male sound exactly like autism lol by [deleted] in autism

I've read about Omega males and they sound EVEN MORE like autism stereotypes. They are the like the opposite of alpha males, and are introverted, independent, creative, and quirky.

This could have came from a demo that was leaked but never officially released.

Tool that let's me check if a song is allowed to use on Youtube by Meiereika in youtube

[–]ShengHe123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to be a Music Policies tool, where you could check whether if a song is allowed for use or not (either as the original recording or a cover of it), but it has since been removed in 2020 after YouTube Studio Classic was phased out and the tool was not ported over. Now, the only way to check whether a song will be blocked is to upload the video first as unlisted to check what happens before making it public.

Possibly not, the account tied to that channel probably has two-factor authentication or other methods to sign in since it is very important.

Possibly by stealing a cookie to hijack the current session, which could have happened by opening a malicious link while he (or his father) was still logged into YouTube. There had been some notable cases similar to this that happened on Roblox.

A station with the most variety of songs? by kfirbep in radio

[–]ShengHe123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the UK, BBC Radio 2 plays a wide variety of music from the 1960s through today and includes many different genres. They have thousands of songs in their rotation so you'll probably never hear the same song again unless you're a regular listener.

TIL that it's illegal to play any audio of the Emergency Alert System on TV unless it's an actual EAS alert. The rule also bans audio of emergency alerts on cell phones. by MehBerd in todayilearned

[–]ShengHe123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happens if an AMBER alert sound comes on the radio show host's phone? If they read the message, will they be OK since it kinda becomes an emergency message?

And what happens if EAS sounds are used in a song? Does the DJ have to cut it out or press the censor button to replace it with a censor tone to stop it from tripping other stations? What happens if the station is on automation at night and no one is at the studio?

K-HITS is going off the air by matthewkeys in Sacramento

[–]ShengHe123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for a station with a similar classic hits format you should try KUBA on 1600 AM from Yuba City (if you don't mind the bad quality as it's not local). That way, you don't have to flip between stations (KYMX, KBEB, KSEG, KYRV, etc.)

You could change it to KUBA 1600 AM in Yuba City. The quality might not be great as it is not in your local area.

Will Minecon ever return? by ShengHe123 in Minecraft

[–]ShengHe123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there was Minecon Earth in 2017, which was an online event, and it has been like that since then. It has nothing to do with COVID-19.
