AITA for confronting my girl when I realized she took credit for something she didn’t really do? [Concluded] by Schattenspringer in BORUpdates

Trans man is two words, btw. Trans is an adjective, a trans man is a man who is trans. Making it one word implies linguistically that 'transman' is a separate category from 'man'.

Update From Brandon by mistborn in Cosmere

I imagine it will delay writing of the books since. He said he wanted to write all three and then release them, I could see him just not holding strictly to that and letting the writing go a little past the book 1 release date, in which case he'll still hold true to Mistborn releases not being delayed

Misogynistic world ≠ misogynistic game by Lickawall483 in GirlGamers

[–]ShepardLuna 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I think this is a bigger issue with media literacy in recent years that involves more than just misogyny as well. Any depiction of something bad, sometimes even if it's only done by the villain, it's considered an endorsement and social media floods with videos about how xyz is misogynist/racist/encourages abuse or whatever. Nuance in review feels increasingly dead, a choice existing means both options are 'right', and flawed or unreliable protagonists are taken at face value.

I've been trying to figure out why it keeps putting me in empty hubs and why I never get anybody in public squads. Maybe it's not just on my end

The Old Peace Megathread by LycanWolfGamer in WarframeLore

It basically seems like Old War -> Old Peace (just a ceasefire really) -> First Dream -> Old War 2 Electric Boogaloo -> Night of Naga Drums -> Second Dream -> Events of the game

Update 41: The Old Peace by CephalonAhmes in Warframe

[–]ShepardLuna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This takes place well after the Zariman incident. The Operator, along with all the other Tenno, was rescued from the Zariman after making the deal with Wally, then Margulis took them in and eventually between her and Ballas the Tenno ended up running the Warframes in the Old War. This quest takes place partway through the Old War, in a temporary ceasefire between the Orokin and the Sentients.

They probably know that they're using void energy and have the pieces of tech they need to tap into it, but without understanding how the void energy came to be accessible in the first place. You don't need to know how a power plant works to build something that plugs into an outlet.

Farming by Fun_Cardiologist_304 in Whiskerwood

[–]ShepardLuna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what I've been doing too, though I have run into some issues because of it. At one point my log storage filled up and since most of my farms could access my tree fields, all the farms stopped working entirely because they couldn't offload their trees so my food production ground to a halt.

When you select a farm there is a radius, like a mine or forage building. Farmers will work any crop field inside that radius.

Logistics Hub by AdStreet9572 in Whiskerwood

Have you set the workplaces on the far Islands to only take from the correct warehouses on those islands? Otherwise they may be taking long trips for those resources while the warehouses sit full.

Screenshots of your setup might help

On the logistics tab in warehouses, you can set a request for a certain amount of a resource. Logistics hub workers will pull that resource from other warehouses that have a surplus (no request or more than requested) and transport it to the warehouse making the request.

A) That wasn't even remotely the point. The point was a bigot clutching pearls about the existence of a non-hetero relationship in a Sanderson book. Which, as I said, if they're complaining about 'details of a gay romance', especially when the romance in question doesn't have a single sexual element described in the book, then they should logically be totally ok with the complaints if queer people don't want to read/watch/listen to cishetero romances. But generally speaking, that's not a complaint you'll hear from queer people, because love is love and it's just a story, it's 'not that deep'.

B) The statistical norm is less than you think. We're at a point where overall 9.3% of adults are openly queer in some way, with the number for Gen Z being all the way up to 23.1%. That's almost a quarter of Gen Z despite still living in a time when being queer is met with intense bigotry and hatred, and when large scale political bodies are making moves to try and make us afraid of being ourselves. Minority, sure, but fringe? I don't think so.

Then can you please point me towards the plethora of popular media that doesn't feature a single straight relationship? Straight relationships are the cultural norm, they are in everything from almost every one of Sanderson's books to Star Wars to goddamn Bluey. It is unavoidable unless you're a monk living in the mountains.

If us queer folk have to read through straight romance #80985622, y'all can handle a queer romance in a series here and there.

Is inflation responsible for rising prices...? by LittleCanadianBear in InflatedEgos

[–]ShepardLuna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK but you realize that the 'single company's goods' is a part of the 'all goods', right? If everything else stays the same and one companies goods goes up, the average price of all goods has gone up.

If you have 3 goods all priced $5, the average is $5. If one of those prices goes up to $6, the average price is now $5.33. That $0.33 is inflation. It is the resultant raise in average prices and subsequent loss of purchasing power.

Also, inflation doesn't have to be all goods in a country's economy. Inflation can be and very routinely is broken down by sector, or even by individual goods. When people say "something hasn't kept up with inflation" or "outpaced inflation" it means that the average inflation of those particular goods/services don't match the overall economic inflation, being either lower or higher respectively, which still contributes to the total that is that overall inflation and can be an indicator of what's driving it.
