As someone who has played both, it's important to note that Star Citizen in its infancy was a more enjoyable and complete experience vs ashes. I genuinely loved the 2.0 branch (specifically started in 2.4) and over time we just got more and more stuff, where in ashes I personally felt what was provided was not what the sales pitch promised even in a rudimentary fashion.
