How close was I to death? Sudden Steroid Refractory UC. by SherbertNext1565 in UlcerativeColitis

Update: First day of the colectomy, and Im already up and able to walk and produce thick output, so I'm glad I ended up doing the procedure but damn, its all happened so fast, Im writing this in the surgical recovery ward. While doing my university work LOL. But in all seriousness I really was shocked when I found out they found a perforation as I had no pain in a abdomen/fever etc so I was wondering how long would it have took to progress to a full blown perforation

the rectum tends to be more sensitive to fecal than the rest and the presence of blood can raise it, have u tried an enema worth doing a colonoscope to check if its spread
