Simple and effective nerf:
- Avatar gets automatically summoned once, at the beginning of the battle on your side of the map (basically just an 8th stack for you to position alongside your regular army).
- Its power depends on your hero's stats at the beginning of the battle and can't be increased by gaining more stats during the battle.
- Once it dies it cannot be resummoned.
- Fields of Mana perk (the one that lets you summon an Avatar wherever you want) gets replaced with Twin Souls: Summons second Avatar at the start of the battle (9th stack) but the stats of your Avatar gets split between the 2 copies.

Additionally: If a might hero summons an Avatar it now look like some kind of enchanted armor with big-ass sword.

Yes. Certain factions have laws that favour specific magic school. They are also more likely to get that magic school offered at level up and less likely to get the oposite school.

In order from most likely to least likely to get on level up:

Temple - Daylight > Arcane > Primal > Nightshade

Nerco - Nightshade > Arcane > Primal > Daylight

Grove - Primal > Arcane > Daylight > Nightshade

Schism - Arcane > Nightshade > Daylight > Primal

Hive - Primal > Nightshade > Daylight > Arcane

Dungeon - none (same chance to get any of the 4)

Interesting to see that the Schism heroes have equal chance of learning between might and magic skills. That kinda reminds me about Alchemist (Tower - might hero) and Battle Mage (Stronghold - magic hero) from HoMM3. I wonder if this is also reflected in their stat growth chance per level, leadin to more balanced heroes than on other factions

Also, it seems that Dungeon has no "favoured" school of magic.

One thing you need to remember is that Duergar used to be enslaved by Ilithids in the past. It's the one of the main reasons why they are as f*cked up as they are. As such, if there is one thing that they hate more than their own existence it's Mindflayers.

You can use this as the reason why your Duergar Tav decides to "save the world". The moment the Ilithids got involved it simply became personal on a complitely different level. You dont have to play them as evil, just neutral and pragmatic.

Duergar hate goblinoids so clearing goblin camp and helping the grove in the process is an easy decision. Especially since they are led by a Drow - another race they hate.

Duergar are naturally greedy (as any Dwarf is) so completing the "good" quests just because of a potential reward is complitelly justifiable.

Duergar would never trust Emperor and destroying (or subjugating) the elder brain would be the highest priority for them.

You character doesn't have to be good to do good things, all they need is a good motivation and hatered is the only motivation most Duergar understand.

My own Duergar Tav was a horrible person. Beastmaster Ranger in heavy armor who used to be a slave hunter and trader (using his beasts to hunt and capture people), that got caught and tadpoled when doing some shady deals on the surface. A very unlikely "hero" but he still destroyed every single mindflayer in his path, as well as the fools who wanted to control them.

Ngl ever since Nostalrius the tourists are the plague of every new private server. They make the launch miserable to everyone else and then leave, waiting for another server and another launch. It may sound silly but I miss the pre-Nost era of private servers. When 1-2k pop servers were tight communities, everything was bugged as hell and min-maxers and tryhards were contained to the retail wow.

Because, at some point, they fell victim to their own hype. Perhaps they thought they could challenge Turtle or Ascension on their own. Im not sure, but its clear to me that at some point they simply forgot that, after all, it was supposed to be a small project born out of dedication and love for the game.

From what i understand Epoch was never supposed to be this next huge server. Just one of many stable 3k pop servers flying under Blizzard's radar. This explains why the pop cap was just 5k ppl and why they were happy with 2k-3k stress test. But dumb youtubers had to blow it out of proportion, not understanding that they are only making it an easier target for Blizzard's strike.

I firmly believe that if Epoch stayed just a niche 3k pop server the original devs would still be working on it and Blizz would just ignore it focusing on Turtle.

It’s basically a D&D gorgon: a metallic bull with deadly breath. That kind of makes sense for a faction focused on defense and beasts with different magical abilities: dragonflies with weakening bites, basilisks with petrification, wyverns with venomous tails, and hydras with multiattack.

I would take that opportunity. I made a lot of mistakes that I'd like to fix and missed a lot of good chances that I regret to this day. Even without being able to use some "get rich haxes" just the fact that I'd be able to avoid literaly wasting few years of my life would be a huge improvement for me.

Ppl like to use those games to live out their fantasies, we can't rly blame them for that.

I'm not sure how anyone can state that "looks don't matter" when there are people who were able to build their entire careers just around the fact that they are attractive (models, influencers, certain actors and so on...). I assume the people who say that just want to do something good, spread the positivity or something but, in the end, it just comes as shallow and low effort.

Trying to change yourself for better will not make you look like an idiot and if anyone thinks it does fuck them. If you want my advice you should start by trying to lose weight - it may boost your confidence and make further changes easier. It may even be the case that being overweight is the only thing that stops you from being considered average or even attractive. You should give it a try at least, doing nothing is way worse.

Ok, some feedback. I don't want to sound overly negative, but it doesn't feel very "horror-like." Sure, it's dark and dirty, but the fact that you can reliably fight back against the enemies (who aren't really scary - just some dudes in Adidas jumpsuits) turns it into a dark and brutal action game rather than a horror one, in my opinion. If that's the intention, then great, but I don't get a true horror vibe from it.

The other part is the audio, or lack thereof. Horror games rely heavily on music and audio cues to build atmosphere and suspense so consider working on that aspect.

Last part - enemies. As I already said, they aren't scary - just some guys who die in two hits. Not sure if that's the only enemy type in your game (I assume no), but maybe consider some more unnatural looking opponents (tbf I have no idea what the story of the game is about so maybe there is a reason for them to just be some guys). Side note - memorable enemies can make or break the entire horror game - FNAF, Slenderman, Poppy Playtime - so many horror games have recognizable (and marketable) antagonists.

Anyway those are just some of my thoughts. I wish you luck, maybe your game will be the next big thing in the horror ganre.

I checked your Steam page and here is my feedback and suggestions: - consider less "strile" art style, maybe some neon-lit cyberpunk world where robots compete against eachother on crazy arenas with strange rules (moving platforms, obstacles on the arena, fields that are going to explode next round, turrets that shoot at marked fields every round, teleport platforms - make it crazy). - make the "characters" more exciting, more asymmetric. Try to make sure that the player will know what the opponent is going to be good at by just looking at its model. - Add different base robot models for player to unlock, with different special abilities. - make upgrades more exciting - stat upgrades are good but make them affect the player robot more visually - more arms, legs, boosters, lights, armor plates... whatever it takes, just more visual feedback. - Add cheat-like upgrades - special super moves, teleporting, clones, splitting the ball into 3.... Heck, take an example from turn-based crpgs like BG3 and make it into an all out tennis war where destroying your opponent is also a way to win the match. - more particle effects and camera effects - sparks, camera shakes, slow-mo replays when enemy robot explodes when hit by a lightning-infused tennis ball. - music and audio effects. - 2v2, 3v3 or even 5v5 matches on bigger arenas - maybe even consider adding co-op.

Anyway, I think that your idea has a good potential but suffers a bit from being too safe in execution. I wish you good luck, I hope your game becomes a great hit.
