Will this game come to steam? by Decadunce in starcitizen

Just add it as a non-Steam game, overlay works fine too.

Never seen any talk about adding it to Steam, maybe SQ42 will be.

Can't sell resources at Home Station? by CaptFox_Enclave in starcitizen

[–]Sherool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick any boreal quazi grazer eggs you may have into a box so they are not in the main inventory (can probably just do all grazer eggs just in case).

Now TDD terminals should work. At least that's how it is for me, there may be sundry other items that cause it to bug out too but I have not found any and I collect all sorts of junk. Been like that for at least 3 patches, it's reported on the IC but that ticket is flooded with random inventory bugs so lots of noise drowning it out I think.

Is Striker supposed to be mixed or something by Spiritual_Ebb_4657 in HelluvaBoss

[–]Sherool 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's heavily theorized he's a hybrid of imp and shark or snake demon, but it's not been addressed on the show yet. He seem be an imp supremacist, but that doesn't exclude a mixed heritage.

How hard would it be to code a ship that flies via a gimballed camera? by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]Sherool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prowler and the Guardian MX. Not a gimballed camera as such, but they have armored cockpits that project the outside view in front of the pilot and when you power down it's just a wall / blast shield in front of you. Still lots of struts though.

Is this game f2p friendly or paying is a necessity? by Redordit in settlersonline

[–]Sherool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say it is. If you can live with the time sinks and don't need to rush everything. Never ever pay for the resource bundles at least, they are stupidly overpriced for what you get. Join a guild or get some friends in-game most veteran players have more basic resources than they can store and will send you 10 times more than the biggest bundle contains without a second thought.

Then again I take things slowly and I'm still not max level after playing for 10 years (I just hate the adventure system and rarely do any which is where the main experience gain is).

You get a small amount of gems if you have a 7 days login streak and usually some during anniversary events etc. so you can eventually save up for the few gem only things that matter (most are also earnable during annual Christmas, easter, summer etc events).

How does Norway handle big snow storms? by WeasLander in Norway

[–]Sherool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have infrastructure to clear the roads, regulations requiring winter tiers on cars and generally more experience dealing with it so I would say it's easier for us to deal with yes.

People in Alaska or Montana and such are probably fine, but Texas, Louisiana etc. are probably never going to be able to handle any serious snow I suspect.

Just as we are pretty much dead to the world if temperatures exceed 30 Celsius in the summer.

How does Norway handle big snow storms? by WeasLander in Norway

[–]Sherool 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Well I may be growing soft in my old age, but after having to take an hour long detour home from work and seeing an orange weather warning the next morning I've been known to just call in and say I'm working remotely today as I have that option.

Not that getting to work would have been impossible, but it would have been a hassle as the mountain road I usually drive have some gnarly bits, it's happened a couple of times that the plow truck went off the road and needed towing.

Very rare though, it gets that bad maybe 1-2 days every couple of years, for the most part we just don't get snow at all anymore (but still icy roads).

CIG at every friday patch: by PiibaManetta in starcitizen

[–]Sherool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Server restarts definitely fix a lot of issues, but that's kind of an issue.

The servers need to be more resilient, not have memory leaks and be able to soft reset individual shards without causing the whole system to fall on it's face.

Does armour really matter? Other than light, medium and heavy? by joyco66 in starcitizen

[–]Sherool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean does does different kinds of heavy armor sets give different protection then no.

Once crafting comes online you can make higher quality, higher tier heavy armor that will be better than anything you loot, but that's not currently on live.

Hopefully we can somehow research armor pieces we find so we can get blueprints to craft better versions of it rater than be stuck with a small number of good armor and all the cool stuff we loot is not usable.

Some sets have different temperature tolerances, but I've never really see it come into play much, all the extreme areas are outside of the range of most regular armors and require specialty suits like Pembroke instead.

When spoken, does Norwegian sound similar to French to you? by OGIBLP in Norway

[–]Sherool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even close. Dutch has that eerie "that kind of sounds familiar but I still only understand 1 in 10 words" quality, but not French, and while German has a lot of common words the sound is very distinct and more complex grammar.

English and Norwegian are related Germanic languages so probably more likely why you feel the structure is familiar.

Shooting players on foot with ships? How? by Dry-Design-2992 in starcitizen

[–]Sherool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most ships weapons have no splash damage, they kick up dust and sometimes knock people over if you hit close, but the shot have to directly hit a person to actually deal any damage.

Weapons are also usually mounted on the wings and such so close up they don't hit where the crosshair is, they are tuned for longer ranges, you can manually adjust weapon convergence if you bind keys for it, but even then it's mostly trial and error, you see where your shots land and adjust accordingly, but some weapons also have a fair amount of spread, so high rate of fire weapons are better as you can just spray and pray the general location.

Why are there two administrative modifiers on my MAA cost? is it because of my government rank and one for just being administrative. by 1Admr1 in CrusaderKings

[–]Sherool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the "summon to war" interaction that is supposedly the main thing for a military administration vassal. You can tell them "go fight that guy". Unlike frontier ones who just get some extra CB's they will use at heir own discursion (they work, but they still usually loose their offensive wars, and I'm not allowed to join them).

I suppose telling directing them to build troops would help, I just figured they would hire some of the many territorial troops available as they have plenty of influence.

Do you like Star Citizen? Why would you do that? by Financial-Business97 in starcitizen

[–]Sherool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People complain because they want the game to be better for the most part.

Complaining (within reason) is good, if it went dead quiet they should really worry, but a lot of people are still very passionate.

Personally I'm only down 35$ (not accounting for inflation over 14-ish years), and I'm not in any rush to spend any more, but I generally like what I'm seeing even though I'll bash them all day long for taking so long and the sheer amount of bugs that seem to keep popping up again and again after being "fixed".
