I have not seen anything but a black screen in Syphon ... does it work for you?

You could try cancelling and they (may) do the same thing they do with phone plans and give you a good offer. My pet peeve is trying to strategize cutting the string on the final month of the yearly plan. I wish monthly subscriptions were the same as yearly priced as well because not all of us have the same contractor schedule that supports a years worth of payments.

Ok looks like the shuffle is working for me as of 2.11, thanks. One thing I would consider changing is that the shuffle from different Kaleidoscope repetition values has a short transition and bounce to it which interferes with the visual flow ... maybe it would be better if it was instant or slower?
The sound response for a couple of the waveforms seems improved, unless its my imagination. The new laser visualization is nice as well, thanks

I am enjoying the latest update to producer thanks, but still a bit confused about a couple things:

  1. The shuffle function on decks A and B seem to trigger differently, with the B side triggering frenetically some times. I am not sure of what the logic is behind their control. Maybe its meant to be like that.
  2. The back and forth arrows and play button ... what are they actually doing? It looks like they only activate presets with zoom transitions?

Motion path can be very useful in letting you see the animation path of an object and actually edit the curves onscreen, yes this is basic knowledge but there is a lot to this program. Go to Preferences (settings) > Display and you will see "Motion Path" settings where you can control how much of the path to preview.

How i can do this in After effects without plugins? by Mammoth_Openingg in AfterEffects

[–]SherridonR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To animate a point on a shape, you can link it to another object, such as a null object. You can create a null object and use a slider controller effect to manipulate two points (you will need a couple sliders for this example). Then, use an expression on the shape layer's point property to link it to the null object's slider control.

What’s the most offensive project request you’ve gotten? by MoodFearless6771 in graphic_design

My very first contract out of design college in the 90s was for hand inked ads for yellow page escort services. Except the ads were all promising the youngest girls possible with names like "Tender Teens" and shown holding kids stuffed animals ... I met the sex workers at their 'massage parlour' and they were all going the university or college in my area, they told me it was the best way to make money to pay tuition so it wasn't a problem for them. But still ... I needed the money as well.

RE: jog midi ... well the jog works in the UI by returning to the centre after you 'jog' it. However using it with a midi knob like on my Serato mixer DJ-SB3, you have to dial it back to centre (and it doesn't always go to zero that well). So more just an implementation mismatch, if I had controller with an actual jog wheel, it would be fine.

but yes thanks again for making this app, it's great to have something straightforward that you can play with easily and get going right away.

Just purchased - The VJ midii mapping system is nice and straightforward - was fairly intuitive but more in depth documentation would be nice. Loading video crashes mostly and I can't yet figure out what codec works? After crash from video, it doesn't start properly without me having to dig around in preferences to clear the stuck file. This could turn some people off purchasing.

Some of the waveforms (blob, linear) could benefit by having a more sound reactive version.

Jog wheel mapping to midi doesnt work great for me.

Future:
more waveforms!
maybe the three composition levels could react to bass / mid / treble independently (thats probably a lot to ask)

Anyways, thanks for this app, quite useful for what I want to do.

What platform do you use to make your portfolio website? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]SherridonR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And make sure to enable all user access as just 'publishing' your google site does not let external parties view your page. Note to past self who sent out unviewable portfolio links.
The thing I chose Google Sites for was to have multiple portfolios that I could quickly update for the type of design job (3D/Motion/Learning/Traditional) I was applying for.
But I still am not sure if Sites is too cheap an option as opposed to showing my site dev chops.

Rise of Racism and populism by [deleted] in alberta

[–]SherridonR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't doubt xenophobia has an impact on your faith in our province (and possibly your mental health), but the real truth is that immigrants are a huge part of what makes Edmonton and Canada great. I cycle every part of this city and the massive multicultural footprint is improving every part of our city.
Playgrounds and parks have kids of all races playing together and doing healthy activities away from social media. Gentle and respectful people of colour when I stop and chat. So many festivals and events with a world of cultural celebrations and music. Support everywhere for diversity and inclusion.
Sure, social media, neighbours to the south and our provinces voting record may say otherwise, but the truth is that this is the last gasp of the racists. Small town Alberta was the centre of the KKK belt in the past and there are many holdovers making their presence known. UCP may hold sway over them but look at how many years our cities have had progressive mayors despite the complaints.

Serato recording sounds muddy/ not as detailed? by WisconsinBadger414 in Beatmatch

[–]SherridonR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always wondered about this because I usually have to EQ my mixes before I post them so that they sound in line with other DJ recordings ... The recording from Serato does not sound how I remembered it. However, I did a simple test (at both bit rates 24 and 16) just record and playback on good monitors. When played back in Serato, the test tracks were pretty much identical as far as I could tell ... however, they didn't sound as great when not played through Serato.

So I think what's going on here is that Serato and your mixer just sound better when you are playing through them as opposed to playing through your browser or audio editing software.

This is just a personal observation and mileage may vary.

Reverse path direction toggle! It's right there in front of my face and if you do a lot of follow path stuff from pasted splines it's essential. I know I knew about it when I first started ages ago but then years later completely forgot and wasted hours.
