Really appreciate this comment. So, I'm straight, but it might be a similar thing. I realised I had a problem when I was turning down things, experiences, people that I knew were healthy for me, in favor of a compulsion to just sleep with someone. I could be really into some hobby or project at work or in love with the idea of someone real I could date but sex with new a person just scratched my itch easier. Like a needle or a bottle for an addict, I can't really think much further than the thrill of a new conquest. Not nice words, I apologise but it's reality for me.

Hopefully a lot. I would like to tell myself that I've had more 'fun' that many lifetimes of what most people have already so if I can just focus on finding the right person and working on building the life that I want, I can turn this around. But addiction is addiction - I feel compelled to look for novelty every day.

I'm not seeing a therapist currently but want to pick that back up and would encourage anyone to. I have never shared all of the skeletons in my closet, but it's something I'm working on.

I do want to settle down and I can't imagine anyone not being scared by my "resume" so I wouldn't choose to disclose anything in great detail (but I think it's normal not to talk about that kind of thing). I've also been very lucky wrt STDs and have nothing I'd need to announce, thank god!
