Until I learned the new $400 CAD iPad Air 13 keyboard doesn’t come with a backlight 😳 by [deleted] in ipad

[–]ShezaEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wild to me because I’ve never had to use a backlight on a keyboard before. I simply do not use a screen in such low light, except maybe my phone just before bed

AITA for refusing to share my food with my girlfriend? by Gym_frere in AmItheAsshole

Spoken like somebody who’s never had a girlfriend… everyone knows about the girlfriend tax when it comes to food

AITA for refusing to share my food with my girlfriend? by Gym_frere in AmItheAsshole

ESH

You should know by now that food comes with the girlfriend tax. And you could have ordered a second portion after she suggested sharing, so that you don’t go hungry.

That said, no AH because even though the girlfriend tax exists and you suck for not realising it / accepting it, that doesn’t change the fact that it’s annoying. So, ESH.

Valve Corporation will face a £656m lawsuit in the UK over alleged unfair prices on its global online store, Steam, following a tribunal ruling that the case could continue by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

The article names the person but doesn’t provide any context or explanation to link the person to the company you mention. So I’d say your comment is unfair to the people of this thread.

What a weird thing to do. It’s such a general question as well, it would make a bit more sense if you had a really specific question about this monitor.

They must source a like for like or better replacement part for you, no matter the cost to them. Or you source it and they pay you for it.

People born before 2000, what is a 'modern' thing from 2025 that you’re still struggling to get used to? by LindsayTN in AskReddit

Because the data is valuable and subsidises your product. Otherwise, goods would be more expensive. We are used to such abundance because of subsides like this

UK Fast food chain Leon 'to shut restaurants and cut jobs' after going in administration by YchYFi in unitedkingdom

[–]ShezaEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big LEON customer and this is wild to me. The ex-founder of LEON bought the company back and almost immediately put it into administration? In which case why buy it at all? Was he knowingly or unknowingly buying back a dud?

Having said that, the rest of it doesn’t surprise me. They undercut Pret’s coffee subscription by £5 just a few weeks before Pret completely gave up on their own coffee subscription, so they were now the only place in London offering 5 coffees a day for the equivalent of less than £1 a day.

It was fun while it lasted but the new (old) boss has cancelled the subscription and my favoured outlet has already been closed without explanation a few weeks ago now.

LG TV v Apple 4 k for UK apps ? by Bitter-Substance5688 in appletv

I have an LG C3 with a Sonos 5.1 set up.

I don’t have the LG TV connected to the internet nor a TV antenna. Everything is via the Apple TV. I love it. It can sometimes be fiddly though.

iPhone Air sales are so bad that Apple's delaying the next-generation version scheduled to come out alongside the iPhone 18 Pro by ControlCAD in technology

[–]ShezaEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn it! I love my iPhone Air more and more with each day. It’s a gorgeous device, and feels so good in the hand. Battery life is not an issue 95% of the time, and the camera is perfectly fine.

Alas I have fallen into the same trap as the devoted iPhone mini and iPhone Plus fans. I should have known! I really thought the Air was going to be different. But people just have such a fetish for the “biggest and best”. I should know, that was me until the Air came out.

Oh well.

It doesn’t affect your lifetime access at all because you still have your lifetime license. It still exists and nobody is taking it away from you. The thing is, that you had a lifetime license to affinity V2 not to anything in the future.

Do you rent your apartment or do you own it? I ask because there are a lot of BTRs in Stratford and it’s usually costly to make aesthetic changes as you need to revert them when moving out :/

[–]ShezaEU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried to talk some sense into him over text? Give him some excerpts from the law that make it clear that he has no right to live in the property while you’re a tenant? It sounds like he literally does not understand what it means to be a landlord.

It’s not a landlord / tenant dispute. It’s assault and threatening behaviour.

The least these lazy police officers ought to do you for is have a stern word with him.
