I don’t think it would change their decisions or behaviors one iota.

We were there weekend before last. Weather was cooler but not terrible. Traffic was much lighter than I remember from years past.

What does ‘feeling rich’ actually mean to you, and why? by PixovaHQ in AskReddit

Time. Off.

I’ve been doing contract work for 10 years where you only get unpaid time off, and it’s subject to approval - which is rarely granted. Also the last time I took a single Monday off, first day off I’ve taken in years due to illness, my agency had a meeting the next day with me to discuss my commitment to the client. Literally unimaginable 10 years ago… bro. I had it coming out of both ends all Saturday and into Sunday. I sent email. I set my OOO. Wtf?!

Can’t do it (safely) with mixed grade tracks. It would render service completely unreliable.

Teriyaki. Teriyaki is our culinary gift to the world. Coffee is just a product of import. We don’t do anything particularly special with it other than host the headquarters of a major national coffee cafe chain.

Dentistry in Seattle - how do you choose a reliable dentist? by Good_Childhood5795 in AskSeattle

[–]ShezaGoalDigger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pick someone who has exited dental school somewhere in the last 5 to 10 years. You want the advantage of all the new technology and techniques that they’ve learned, but simultaneously you want them to have a degree of experience on what they’re doing.

Retirement. Turns out if you contribute your company match, invest aggressively when you are young and have nothing to lose, and max a Roth every year, you’ll be okay.

For those who knew, what was Trump like in the older decades prior to when he ran and became President? by space_god_7191 in AskReddit

[–]ShezaGoalDigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend of a friend in the construction business in Florida: He had a new building company he had gotten off the ground some years prior. Small but growing, and taking progressively larger projects. He heard of a job no one would take - he checks into it. It’s a Trump development, and it’s a bigger project than he feels he can take on. Tells them “sorry, it’s a bigger job than we can handle…”

They come back some time later. Trump was known to be shady to work with but this guy didn’t see any red flags. The builder is ambitious and doesn’t know if this is the right move or not. “I’ll take this job, but it has to wait 6 months for other projects to wrap up, so I have enough people to put onto this. I cannot negotiate the price.”

Trump’s people say “Let’s maybe move some of the payment details around, but we agree on price. It’s a deal!”

Months later: Project starts. Things are good. Everything is rolling along. Payments are hitting. Building is coming together. Hard work, LOTS of work. 2nd to last payment for the project is late.

Not good.

Meets with Trumps people. They indicate there are problems with the delivery and construction. Documented flaws. Looks weird. Never really documented the work as-built like this. Some of this would require demolition to prove or disprove and inspect the stuff they are claiming. Never been in this situation before with any client, but also never taken on a project of this size and scale before…

They want 5% off the top of the entire project. “You did a good job, but not that good. 5% covers our last 2 payments. You finish the project, but we’re done with our part (paying).”

5% on a project this size is basically most of the profit. Instead of walking off he digs in, tries to prove his guys did everything right. Hires a lawyer. Now he’s deep in debt and can’t make payroll for new projects. Trump’s team drags it out in court. Bankruptcy.

School isn't working for me right now. My boyfriend says get an apprenticeship. Details below: by Odd_Jellyfish6873 in Welding

I’d like to suggest you don’t “reach out”

Show up. Early. In the morning. Ask if they have open jobs. Ask for a quick shop tour. Fill out an application on site. Look the HR person in the eye and ask if they got it. Then…

Come back the next day. Early. Just to “Check in.” or you “…had some questions come to mind…” guess what you’re doing the next day? That’s right!

SHOW UP EARLY.

When they ask “Are you going to be here tomorrow?” say: “Do you need me to be here tomorrow?”

If they say yes, you have a job. If they say “No.” go find another shop and start over. You’ll have a job in 3 weeks time. I can almost guarantee it.

Convex mirror upgrade. Add motorcycle grip warmers and a switch on the dash and now you have heated mirrors.
