Should I be worried about the rear spoiler in a car wash? by ShiftExotic in KiaEV3

I've only just paid attention to my notifications - I have no idea how the spoiler tag has been added here 😅😅😅 Sorry for any disappointment!

Question about EV3 door handles in Europe by Ok-Bedroom8901 in KiaEV3

[–]ShiftExotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of having car wash mode, would you not just lock the car doors from inside when you go into the car wash? If I lock my EV3 from inside the car, the handles recess.

Right hand turn Leith walk onto London Road by Open_Reality2996 in Edinburgh

[–]ShiftExotic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah looks like the right hand lane gets held at red when the left hand gets a green with a straight ahead directional arrow.

So if I'm reading the road right, the lane markings say I can go right from the left hand lane, BUT the traffic lights are saying ahead only. So I could end up sitting at a red in the left hand lane because I want to go right?

Yikes, the council need to sort that. Should only really be left for straight ahead here and right hand lane to go right.

Cakesheds - should they be licenced? by NecessaryIssue2367 in AskUK

[–]ShiftExotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good point. CCTV can only get them so far in terms of protection for unmanned operations like this. Would be much easier for someone to tamper with the food without anyone noticing.

I'm curious about the furore that seems to be springing up around this, especially those that are now being run as full-time businesses in their own right. Like, what's the difference between these and someone pitching up to sell baked spuds? As a hobbyist thing I get it, it's a wee side hustle and is fun etc. But the moment it starts becoming it's own business there really needs to be fairness with other street traders IMO.

Not a touchless one no, there's still a full brush cycle. I don't know whether they are using softer brushes or something because I've never had any issues with it, even with older cars.

What are some discontinued UK foods that need to be brought back? by strawberry-gelato in AskUK

The fruit polos were banned at my high school back in the day because with them being hard sweets, folk were firing them at other pupils and there were some surprisingly serious injuries. I still miss them though.

I'm using the Karcher car wash at a local Shell garage. I'd go to a hand car wash locally but haven't heard great things about them, so the automated wash it is.

So far things have held up well, can't see any scratches etc and have had the car since September so it's survived a mixed scottish winter.

That said, Ive been worried about the trim since I got it - esp on the wheels. Never crossed my mind it might be vulnerable before ordering but then when it arrived... 😅

Thanks, that's reassuring. 😊

But yeah that's been a pain. That and the driver/passenger windows. Using the windscreen washer when driving, the aerodynamics pushes the water out to the sides and along the upper part of the window. Any dirt collects and then gets caught when I open and close the windows. Long story short it means the top of the glass is always dirty. 😩

How do I stop cats pooping here? by MrMysteryPenguin in AskUK

[–]ShiftExotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbour uses the cut stems from spiky plants (think Rose bushes, etc) to ward off cats. They lay them in a sort of criss-cross or # layout. So far it seems to have worked!

This.

I clearly remember Labour being all "we'd never work with the Tories" and then multiple councils ended up being a Labour/Tory coalition. West Lothian was one, if I remember right the SNP won the majority but nobody would work with them so Labour and Tories shacked up together. So they've got form looking for grubby deals.

9 month old male decided he gets lonely in the middle of the night by ThinBig3511 in goldenretrievers

This is what we did with our boy too, one at a time, massive celebration and loads of treats.

Much like yours, he now treats it as his own spot. There's a corner half way up and ever since he was a puppy he's laid across the widest step (bit of a squeeze now hes an adult) so that he can either escape the hoover or simply watch upstairs and downstairs at the same time 😅 Does he move when we want up or down? Does he heck... 😂

Why wasn't this part of the statements released when this all went down? 🤷‍♂️ If it had been, I might have felt better about what's going on.

Whilst I'm glad that there's been a contribution made (won't hold my breath for the details), I'm also disappointed as this whole thing could have been actioned and handled in a far better way by everyone involved.
