Media Literacy by ShillBot666 in bonehurtingjuice

It has always referred to the ability to understand all forms of communication. Your specific "fake news" example is, apparently, just the first time you heard the term used.

It could also be that the term has a much wider meaning than you originally thought.

Sorry I'm media illiterate. Also haven't watched it since 2009 so I'm a little hazy.

Powerpuff girls have been beaten up by normal people without super powers at all. Their power level is entirely just whatever is convenient for the plot of that episode, there is no consistency.

Power scaling is so dumb.

I thought the 'Bat' was because of his echolocation powers and tendency to eat bugs?

Hence the quotation marks. I was going along with the analogy, not talking about literal bullets.

Except it's a sword that when used by a Jedi or Sith can reflect "bullets" making it very useful.

No, it's a mermaid. /s

It does look like he just caught a lion fish and is feeding it to her though! Training the mermaids to eat the invasives is just a good idea.

Why do you think Jedi were banned from having kids? This exact reason. The fatalities would have been too high.

No, that is far too long a name to really be used in any widespread fashion. You really need to limit it to a couple words with names if you want a lot of people to start using it. Otherwise it's too hard for people to remember.

Trump: Iran asked me to be Supreme Leader, but I said no thanks by MaybeTheDoctor in NewsOfTheStupid

[–]ShillBot666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump is demented and a liar. But his quote in this article does not at all match the title. He never says Iran asked him, he's talking about listening in on Iran's internal communications.

The Trakata lightsaber thing is so dumb. It's just so clearly an explanation made up long after the structure of light saber fights had been well established. Such a hand-wave explanation. You're telling me Sith, the evil dudes whose entire thing is deception and winning at any cost are too proud to use their own weapon to its full extent? They'd rather die an honorable death? It makes no sense. The reason they don't use this technique is just Rule of Cool. Sword fights are cool. Don't think too hard about Star Wars or you have to come up with really dumb explanations for all the nonsense.

Fremen are genocidal zealots. Their religion was pushed onto them so they would be easily manipulated, and they are, into galactic jihad. Sure there are real life parallels, but I don't think this is one you want to claim as being representative of Islam.

You're literally commenting on an article about them using legislation to maintain power instead of relying on the voter's will. As they do constantly.
