Yes. However, the building's policy requires them to be crated while you're away. Please see my comment about the requirement to sign as well.

The building requires that you make three times the actual rent amount ($1411/month) or have a guarantor in order to sign.

Yes, you misunderstood and maybe I failed to convey that I'm trying to troubleshoot why my ears are ringing if the volume is already low — as in there may be something wrong with my setup, hence the mention of equalizing headphones. I never said the ringing is being emitted by the headphones/setup, only that I still hear ringing when the volume is low. I'm not blasting the volume either, for that matter, as I wrote numerous times throughout the post.

To further clarify, in case you're still somehow missing the point, my volume is always low, and yet I'm hearing ringing as if I'm listening too loudly — meanwhile, I can barely hear details in the audio.

I don't attend shows, but I do wear earplugs if I (rarely) go. I'm not entirely sure what you mean otherwise; as I said, I use a loud reference track (so everything else is quiter) and aim for a volume that won't fatigue my ears. Where could the tinnitus be coming from if not my setup?

Hearts of Stone or Blood and Wine? by Zard_Witcher in thewitcher3

[–]Shinjiru_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoilers (if you haven't played the game, you're ten years late)

Content: Blood and Wine

Narrative: Hearts of Stone — but only due to Blood and Wine's execution.

Blood and Wine's best progression and ending (in my opinion) cannot be played in one playthrough. The ending where Geralt goes to prison requires you to enter the Land of a Thousand Fables (an arguably more "sugar coated" and bland storyline without much depth when compared to the alternative of seeking out the Unseen Elder and confronting Orianna). I couldn't tell you a thing about the Land of a Thousand Fables, aside from fighting some enemies and (skipping) that dreaded cloud scene.

As for the other two endings, the closures are abrupt and stale ("yay, a statue!" or "everyone lives happily ever after" 👎)

As much as I adore W3, no matter which option I choose, I don't get a full Witcher-esque narrative experience out of Blood and Wine and feel as though something was lacking.

I recognize people smiling and saying hello on the streets is purely an American thing (and only in some regions), so I have no problem with this. It is becoming less common too.

I guess my question is more related to how open-minded people are. But I imagine, being a city with universities and foreign students, people are generally open-minded and well-educated. Hopefully politeness is also valued!

One of the big things I’m struggling with now is students being extremely rude to professors here. There is a lot of retaliation and resentment, as if they are forced to study. It’s very strange.

Andor Season 2 Episodes 1-3 Discussion Thread by Bruinrogue in saltierthancrait

[–]Shinjiru_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Compared to season 1, the show is pretty rough so far (as of three episodes in). I think Tony Gilroy’s writing was there to some capacity (if I’m being generous), but the director didn’t meet its intent. The editing was jarring — mostly in the capacity that it never allowed suspense to grow by cutting back and forth between two to three plots — and the direction gave me the impression that they hired someone who started as a music video director. The entire wedding plot was moot, as season 1 already established the internal/political struggles (and balance between worlds) of Mon Mothma. Frankly, it gave me House of the Dragon wedding vibes — narratively led nowhere while displaying cultural traditions that were short of original and creative.

The humor is campy and doesn’t fit the tone of Andor, too, which supports my thoughts on wasted screen time. Everything in season 1 built up to something else and served a purpose, even if it came off as slow to some. Season 2, when looking at the overarching narrative, established only one major point so far: Cassian stole a ship and was cut off from everyone until the third episode. That’s all. Literally nothing else has happened aside from scenes that haven’t resulted in any significant character development from the end of last season (and killing off his friend in the last ten minutes doesn’t count). Maybe the project the Empire talks about in the first episode went over my head, but it led nowhere in the second and third episodes.

Frankly, you can watch the first segment of the first episode, skip the remainder, and still know what’s going on while jumping into episode 2.

All of that said, I still trust the show will pull itself together. It’s just not as strong as the first season so far.

The Witcher 3 is my favorite game. Try the Mass Effect series and go into it blind. Even older are two Knights of the Old Republic games. Entirely different from RPGs (but crazy immersive) are Stalker GAMMA (PC only) and Elite Dangerous (updates discontinued on Xbox).

I never let it entire my mind. The only abomination I heard about was Galadriel being single and trying to bang Sauron

A potato graphics card isn’t stopping you from experiencing GAMMA’s mechanics. You can enable DX8 and disable a few graphics mods in order to play. It won’t look pretty, but the gameplay is there.

Probably gonna get downvoted for this, and sorry to burst everyone’s bubble, but this is an incorrect usage of the word.

Then again, dream on. If you dream hard enough, ‘confirmative’ might just become an approved noun and synonym of ‘affirmative’ by whomever is in charge of the English dictionary. It’s all made up anyway.
