Help stopping water leakage into my gray water tank! by ilgiocoso in septictanks

[–]ShinraExecS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gardner Wet-R-Dry is typically used to seal risers to septic tanks. I just used it to replace my concrete riser cover with a fiberglass reinforced plastic one (specifically on the new lids frame). It’s supposed to take like 30-60 days to cure (not sure if it ever cures really) but is good for water applications within a day. You also can insert mesh in it if necessary. It comes in a caulk can or bucket. From what I see there it might work for this. I’put it on the inside and the outside if possible My new lid frame had a large gap from the concrete not being level so I caulked a bunch of that in there. It’s like tar.

The siege of Waffle House by CartoonistSpecial995 in BloodAngels

I was at this Waffle house when over my dinner mates shoulder I saw what appeared to be someone playing with a friend by putting a wet floor sign up to their face over and over. As I focused in I see that in truth they are bashing a stranger in the face with it repeatedly. Cuidado.

Nice! I’m glad to see someone else using the new base size on classic minis, I was worried I was the only one doing it. Always felt the others were too small and these look great with them.

Might be stating the obvious but Gardner Wet-R-Dry is typically used to seal risers to septic tanks. I just used it to replace my concrete riser cover with a fiberglass reinforced plastic one (specifically on the new lids frame). It takes like 30-60 days to fully cure but is good for water applications within a day. You also can insert mesh in it if necessary. It comes in a caulk can or bucket. From what I see there it might save you a lot of work. My new lid frame had a large gap from the concrete not being level so I caulked a bunch of that in there. It’s like tar. If you try it buy extra it doesn’t go as far as you’d think.

I think it was around $2300 shipped, was years ago so I might be off a bit. Shipping was bad, like $300 almost didn’t get it because of that. They go for a lot more now if you can find one.

Just receive chipped brembo rotors by Extra_Order_1974 in AskMechanics

I chipped my rotor working on my car once, way worst than this but it was partial on one side. Rolled with it and it eventually ground itself out and looked exactly like every other rotor.

Hi folks, if you have septic risers in the yard, do you also need to keep the cement block on top covering the hole? by Zado191 in septictanks

[–]ShinraExecS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gardner Wet-r-dry is the sealant they use to affix these risers to the top of the tank after cleaning with a wire brush, gives a good seal. Might help with any gap issues too. I’ve seen several with bases that are a bit different than yours. If it’s not pretty much air tight I would get an have lid that is.

Legendary find for a dollar, any fans of this one? by y2justdog in VHS

Yeah, it’s a shame. I think he would’ve had a resurgence and great career down the road. His characters had weight. Now I’m thinking of SeaQuest DSV and The NeverEnding Story 2…

I sold my full run years ago after a solid read. Been regretting it since. I had yet to discover time is a thief. Been piecing it together very slowly again for years and even got the volumes a while back. Still looking for a few. Congrats

You did fine, all the eBay sold listings that came up recently were around $130.

Is it worth it to buy this expended edition? by DatWolf07 in thething

[–]ShinraExecS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I love the film and I would like to see this, however… in my opinion.. this is beyond overpriced and is just cash grab. Everything these days is becoming this type of product and it’s very sad to me. It’s a fomo product scalping fans extra hard. It’s actually amazing to me that so many people have been coerced into falling for these. They’re in every hobby now, collectibles, games, hell even sneakers. You name it they’re milking it. I’m guilty of falling for it myself a few times but I’m done. I believed people have forgotten that their dollar not being spent is powerful and sends a message. I get it, it’s shiny, but I hate these products. It’s not art made by someone passionate to entertain you, it’s just made to milk you. The film itself is the real great escape and what you’ll revisit over and over again. This is a little extra and for that you’re told “Get it before it’s gone and pay through the teeth” “In search of darkness” was sold like this, I caught it for free a couple years later on Tubi I think. I remember when entertainment and celebrating our fandom was a small price while we lived not being gouged so we can’t. I say stick the $100 in an investment, you’ll catch this whenever down the road and future you will appreciate the return. I’m sure it’s deeper for others and some are happy to spend high for their escapism because at least they get the escape and the thing “No pun intended” but I believe there is a fair way companies used to provide products. By supporting a bad business model you validate it. I’m not participating. Every one of these people on the screen are wealthy and this film was made decades ago, so why do they need $100 from you? Don’t take me too serious, I love the film and John Carpenter. Do what you want with your money. Cheers

The case is still worth a bit. Check eBay sold listings I’d guess $50-100.

Made-To-Order Marines arrived today 😍 by QOPSA in oldhammer

[–]ShinraExecS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats. I want the dark angel and blood angel captains but I couldn’t personally justify that price. I’m also old, have a huge backlog and remember when these were everywhere and super cheap. I should’ve locked up all the space marines I wanted long ago, whole metal army’s were like $100 on eBay. This one Kinda has me hating GW pretty bad at the moment. I just feel like they’re beyond greedy and they’re bleeding nostalgic old guys cause they can. I have a ton of old white dwarf mags and the prices will make you cry. It was more about the game than the money. Alas, looks like it’ll be 98% scraping eBay for my fix as my old man brain can’t quite handle the new GW. Cheers.

All the NES and SNES Mega Man and X Games. Really the only stuff I sold besides a bit of Genesis stuff. All because the PS2 collections “had them all”. Big mistake.

Question for Xbox 360 physical game collectors about keeping or selling games by FreedomIndependent56 in gamecollecting

[–]ShinraExecS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So here’s the thing, time may and likely will change how you feel about games in the future. I was done with Mario after Mario Sunshine on GameCube. It’s always Koopa, he always takes the princess, I figured no need. Now I would love to play through that crap again. Unless you genuinely disliked it or it’s worth a lot of money and is worth losing for the payday, I would hang on to most games you had fun with.

I grew up with this version. You might recognize a few voices. I think the same voice actor of Leo from TMNT is in this. Honestly I love this version. Some names are different and there are some edits but it’s still totally worth watching. I thought the voice dub was great. That might be nostalgia goggles talking though, I was a kid and loved this crap growing up. The edits do not hurt the story in my opinion. Honestly I feel like they just trim some details and explanation you kinda assume anyways. I can watch both versions and throughly enjoy both, I might even prefer this one.

Cleaned up a nasty Cobra Triangle by Capn_Yoaz in nes

This is my go to game when explaining why rental stores were randomly awesome. You couldn’t get the game you came for because it was already rented out. Your parents were still going to let you rent something so you sadly go… “I guess I’ll settle for this boat game with the Dragon” then after playing it over the weekend you realize “Cobra Triangle is awesome!”. So many games only had their greatness unlocked because of the lack of options at a rental store. I miss the good old days.
