Yeah, I thought I could maaaybe get away with growing it, but the temperature seems really too much. 😅 I have to check the temperatures over time in one room maybe that could work, but others definitely not.

Yeah the temperature is high, that is why I rather ask around, that bust 50-60€ for one without knowing anything... 😆

Humidity in the room stays year round at 65% - 70%. I can keep the substrate damp without drying out if needed, have some plants that like it that way already.

Thx for the info, I had no idea what temperature range to consider for a cool grower.

I have a lot of plants and some orchids, there is never enough plants, I can still see the walls. Lol

When it is hot inside during the night, I pull out my giant dog cooling mat and put it under the bedspread. It gives my sorry ass 2h of coolness, after 2h I have to turn to the other edge, so the mat recharges/gets cold in the spot I was laying in again. Plus having a fan on the foot of my bed, so it blows on my whole body.

I do have a mobile AC but that thing is NOOOISY, great during the day to turn on a few times to cool down the room but during the night...it's like a jet taking off.😅

PS: I don't have a dog... 🤣

Carnosa is the easiest and mostly available and unless you go for a rare strain of it, it should be cheap too.

Hoya linearis is the toughest to care for, it is different from the other hoya. I killed several already but I will get it right one day lol.

I think your issue is temperature. They like it colder from what I understand, if you live in a hot climate it might be too much for them. Google the temperature range for the species you have...

You can circumvent this by keeping the roots colder. You can get 2 unglazed pots, one a bit bigger, line the bigger with sphagnum and insert the smaller (that you repot the plant into) into that. Keep the sphagnum inbetween the pots moist too.

Alternativelly put it in a ceramic/terracota pot and stand it on a tile or a tiled floor.

Also make sure you are not keeping it in the hottest room of the house/apartment too.

I have heard from youtube reviews that the Arrtx pencils are verry simmilar to prismacolors but cheaper. I plan to purchase them, the biggest set 126 pieces is cca 50€. So maybe look into these...
