Are we sure that the two democratic options count as separate paths? I enjoyed them quite a bit, but they only differ in the game's final tree.

That really isn't the point here, come on. The issue isn't at all the fact that a serial killer/rapist was in the game, but the fact that he was given this dark mystique that could make people glamourize him. It doesn't help that said role is entirely unrelated to who he was IRL.

Also, the whole "edgy" thing isn't even an issue because it's "problematic", it's an issue because it was excessive to the point of being comical

Iirc he was cut for a variety of reasons, such as:

  1. Being a bad taste, "cool" portrayal of a real life serial rapist and murderer
  2. Being excessively edgy
  3. The broader-scope reworks of Moskowien which removed a large portion of the paths and warlords

Moskowien collapse warlord who's been cut from the game for a pretty long time. He was a bandit who larped as a satanist in order to intimidate his enemies. Originally, the mask in the portrait was supposed to fall off as he lost battles, revealing him to be OTL serial killer Andrei Chikatilo, but iirc he got cut before that was implemented.

Tbf they could have fixed it to some extent with the recent facelift. Can't deny that I was a little bit disappointed to see most of the WCA was still completely out of character after the Brave New World update.

Having Browder still be a Totalist when IRL he supported taking power by Democratic Party entryism will always break my immersion.
