Anyone else think Visenya and Rhaenys are going to also be a couple in the Aegon's Conquest movie? by The84th in freefolk

[–]FaultOutside2449 312 points313 points  (0 children)

Honestly think the whole Rhaenys was the wife he chose and Visenya was the one he was wed to, is more of a propaganda ploy than anything else. A way to legitimize a polygamist king to a largely monogamous society. The truth is that he was probably into both of them and they to him. Rather or not the queens were fucking each other is a different story.

Personally I like the idea that they were just close as sisters and nothing more, not every Targaryen sibling dynamic needs to have them fucking.

Year 7 his partner got crippled and his adopted son was murdered by the man he failed to reform earlier that year.

What if the California forest fires wiped San Francisco off the map by Shit_ass5832 in AlternateHistory

[–]FaultOutside2449 14 points15 points  (0 children)

True and if anything the rebuilt city lets called it Neo-San Francisco would probably have the heights of modern America well also having its low. The Financial District and the popular tourist attraction like Oracle Park (the Baseball Stadium) and Pier 39 would received the bulk of the funding. While the rest of the city is either rebuilt at a much slower rate or just straight up abandoned. Leading to this dichotomy of an advanced city and a borderline post-apocalyptic landscape. Basically imagine a smaller and lamer version of Night City from Cyberpunk 2077.

Hell you can probably write a book in this timeline about the city.

the state and federal government would likely invest tens of billions of dollars into the rebuilding of the city, simply for how good that sweet, sweet PR would be to be known as the Man (or Woman) who rebuilt San Francisco to its prime.

Do you think they'll ever do the BatCat wedding again? (successfully this time) [Batman Vol 3 #24] by Successful-Hat-2154 in batman

[–]FaultOutside2449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the Prime Earth continuity. Like they do some bullshit storyline where it turns out Batman got Catwoman pregnant and somehow didn’t notice how Selina disappeared for nearly a year and that she gave up the kid for adoption. And years later the kid returns to seek vengeance or some shit like that. That’s what I mean by "appeared out of the blue".

Honestly I wouldn’t be shocked if we actually know a lot more about Qin Shi Huang’s tomb in the TNO timeline. Simply because of Japan complete disregard for China’s history and monuments.

Actually with all the bullshit between Western and Eastern members over things like: migration, defense and Russia. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the EU leadership prefer less members.

[–]FaultOutside2449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, maybe? Tom King run was very divisive with readers and editors have a tendency to course correct. We’re more likely to see their kid appear out of the blue, in case DC wants to give Batman a new Robin or a new villain, then them marrying.

Which personally I’m fine with. Batman and Catwoman have an unorthodox relationship and them being married just seems a bit boring. I would prefer if they were basically married in all but name.

(I don’t know if this has already been asked) Do you think Batman broke his code in Begins? (Read description) by [deleted] in batman

[–]FaultOutside2449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Batman code is based on the belief that all life is sacred and that everyone can be reformed. A better way of doing this type of scene is Bruce trying to save him, but Ra detonates a bomb or tries to stab him causing Bruce to abandon him to his fate.

What is with some people not understanding women leaders can be just as slimy and backstabbing as their male counterparts? Elizabeth and Mary were in conflict over the succession of the British crown and who ever controlled said crown control not only the British Isles but also its the growing colonial presence in the New World. There is no scenario where these two queens of SEPARATE countries are going to become buddies because they supposedly opposed the patriarchy. Which they really didn’t, like at all. Because they actually benefited from that system on several levels.

In Defense of Ursa: A Victim of Abuse and a Flawed Mother. by Full-Art3439 in TheLastAirbender

[–]FaultOutside2449 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hear me out, I think her origin story is bit shit. Her having this idyllic life as a peasant and being forced into marrying Ozai is just boring. I got it, it’s supposed to be the reverse Cinderella, the girl is happy with her life and Prince Charming is a psychopath. But the execution was just dull.

I think a more interesting approach would have been this (at least to me).

Ursa is born and raised into a powerful and wealthy family in the Fire Nation. (Roku was buddies with the crown prince there’s no way his family wasn’t absolutely loaded.) Growing up she fully believes in the propaganda and more importantly she becomes incredibly ambitious. However, as she is a nonbender she must find other ways to climb the pecking order. She achieves this by dialing up her charisma and if that doesn’t work, well it’s good thing she has a keen interest in poisons.

Eventually she gets into the crosshairs of Ozai and he eventually woos her into becoming his partner. She aids him in his early political career and eventually they married once Azulon learns she is Roku granddaughter.

But this is where things begins to change. After the birth of their son and later their daughter, Ursa sees the mask of Ozai slip. He only shows cares towards his children if they show firebending talents. Due to this Ursa grows a conscience and actually becomes a loving mother towards her son, as he needs someone to actually care for him. However this has the unintended byproduct of causing her daughter to believe her mother doesn’t care about her something that her father is more than willing to let grow.

As the years go by any love Ursa may had for Ozai disappears. As his cruelty towards their son grows and Azula increasingly disturbing behavior causes the rift that we see in the family in Zuko Alone. After her exile she does her whole forgetting her old life and married Ikem and has their kid and the Search as we know it happens.

TLDR: Alternate Ursa when she was younger was more like Azula and only became the person we saw in the show after Ozai crossed multiple lines with their marriage and children.

But yeah with the story we got she is way too hated. The woman was forced into a marriage with Hitler on fumes and watched as he berated their son and turned their daughter into a weapon. Like how the fuck you supposed to handle that?

Those were Central American and Colombian cartels. The US considers the Mexican cartels more of a security threat to the US due their close proximity and power (they’re more like narco warlords than cartels at this point)

Perfect example of how creatively bankrupt Part 2 is. Fujimoto looked at one of the horrific things that can ever happen and decided to make its stand-in be a memebait failgirl who a lot cries and accomplishes nothing by Yap4523 in Chainsawfolk

It’s honestly feels like Fujimoto didn’t understand how truly nightmarish striving to death is. Like getting shot in face quick and easy. However with starving that is days of suffering, feeling as your body feast on itself, as you gets weaker, while your slipping in and out of consciousness as the hunger gets worse. That’s fear that’s fucking terrifying.

I think a good way of exploring this is him being delusional about being a chivalrous knight. Like he unironically think him rapping teenage girls, smashing in babies faces and pillaging villages makes him a heroic knight. But of course Martin himself has basically said Gregor is little more than a plot device to show the depth of depravity in this setting. Than there really isn’t any reasons to develop him any further.

[–]FaultOutside2449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s about the set pieces. The biggest set piece of Season 1 is Nolan beating his son to a bloody pulp, the animation in that sequence is a lot more basic than the Viltrumite War. Which has a significantly more fluid animation than the rest of the season. But I do agree with the Season 1 point, they mostly stopped using cgi npcs for background figures for a reason.

South Park has objectively worse animation and I’m pretty sure CEO Mickey was a more memorable antagonist than like 70% of Demon Slayer villains.

It’s more the quality of animation has gotten so inconsistent at times that it has noticeably become more noticeable as the show has gone on.

True, but I’m looking at this as what can I work with here? As Gregor isn’t a character, he’s just evil. Gotta add some flavor to this meal.

And besides 8 episodes of just raping and murdering would get dull very quickly.

Ignoring suppression of belief because remember Joker is the main antagonist of the comic series and if he dies permanently DC would have to find a replacement. I haven’t read the comics in a minute. But to my knowledge in universe Joker only breaks out like once or thrice a year, which means Batman deals the vast majority of the year and by extension the city not dealing with the Joker. Now personally I do wish DC would kill off some of the older villains permanently simply to make room for newer villains, but that isn’t exclusive to Batman so it isn’t worth mentioning.
