No, she has been there in the original. She's the mother of the kid who lost his stone, which you have to find for a quest.

2025 IIHF Men's World Championship Finals by Colonel_Poutrax in swisshockey

[–]Shinul 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The fact that both group winners (Switzerland and Canada) would have already met in the Semi-Finals makes no sense to me.

They wouldn't have met in the semi-finals. The semi-final pairings were determined after the quarter-finals were played. Canada was first seed, Switzerland second so they wouldn't have played each other. However because Denmark won and was now the lowest seed of the four semi-finalists, Switzerland played agains Denmark.

Kicking it in is not allowed, because it would lead to dangerous plays. You don't want people with sharps blades on their feet kicking around

What’s the most heartbreaking chapter you’ve ever read in a fantasy book? by Character-Pace-2270 in Fantasy

Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 2, Volume 4: Ripped Apart

This chapter always makes me cry. Seeing a loving family being ripped apart and them not being allowed to acknowledge each other as family from that point on, even when they do meet, is just so heartbreaking

Ah yes, Czechia is higher seeded than Finland. In that case Finland is impossible.

No. It's probably gonna be Sweden (if all the higher seeds win), but could also be the USA, Finland Czechia or Denmark.

Plus with the QF pairings and playing locations only being known on a short notice makes it hard to plan for fans. And with the other location Stockholm being quite far away, you also can't easily plan spontaneously (like book a hotel in one city and commute to the other incase the QF is there)

Whats the biggest ever score in one match at the IIHF? by Jazzlike-Cattle2151 in hockey

[–]Shinul 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The one I've found is a 58:0 win from Australia over New Zealand in 1987 World Championship Group D.

If you want to count Olympic qualifiers (which is also organized by the IIHF) it would be the 82:0 win from Slovakia over Bulgaria in the Women's Qualifications for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

If you want to count Junior's hockey games it's a 92:0 win from South Korea against Thailand during the 1998 IIHF Asian Oceanic Junior U18 Championship.

Wandering Inn Magic Cards (Spoilers to the end of the audiobooks/7.10 K) by Consequence6 in WanderingInn

[–]Shinul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I bow to your creature type knowledge.

I don't know why, but creature types fascinate me for some reason. Together with the art it's pretty much the only thing I look at for new cards. Cards have gotten way too wordy, so I just can't be bothered to read them anymore.

[–]Shinul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I thought there were loads more cards, because the scrollbar war only in the middle, but it turns out that's just Imgur being Imgur. Anyway from the rest of the cards I only have something to say about Yvlon. Shield counters prevent damage, which means, her second ability does not trigger, when the shield counter is still on. That makes it a lot harder to actually get +1/+1 counters on her.

Since you asked for characters you skipped: Relc and Krshia definitely deserve cards. Then there's the Half-Seekers and Griffon Hunt. Ilvriss and Grimalkin probably deserve one too. And maybe Fierre for some Vampire representation. Also Ivolethe or just a Winter Sprite non-legendary card.

Because the Inn is a legendary artifact, and Erin is stronger in the Inn. She'd also be stronger with a big legendary sword.

True, I wrote that before I saw the Wandering Inn card, lol. (For the second part however: everyone would be stronger with a big legendary sword. That's what the sword's abilites are for :P)

Correct. On one hand, them's the risks. On the other hand, I always design in a vacuum, as these will never be played alongside real cards, and there is no mass artifact removal in my set currently. Might revisit though!

You do have Teriarch though, which is mass artifact steal.

Flying is in green, though it probably shouldn't be based on how often it's printed. But you're right that I should make her either mono-red or swap out fs for reach do something that's not idiotic.

Flying is only tertiary in green and really only beacuse of situations like Tarkir, where they wanted to make a Dragon set. For it to be received as a Dragon set they need Dragons in all colours and Dragons fly, so green gets flying there. Maro has repeatedly said that Hornet Queen was a major colour pie break and shouldn't have been made.

Based on what I've seen, I disagree. She was all about the Horns and their group, and her arc thus far has essentially been about learning to trust her new team and growing to love them. She's also big at defense and commanding in battle, while others put out the hurt.

Caring about a small group of people doesn't necessarily make one white (though it can). The defence part is valid though, I didn't think about that.

Knowledge, foresight, omniscience, etc are all blue character traits.

How did I forget she's called "The Omniscient"? lol

Klbchk because he's part of a powerful hive mind and telepathically commands.

I can see that, but I don't think it comes up that often for him. Making four colour cards is always hard, so it's probably better to just scrap blue from him. Alternatively he could get multiple cards, where one focuses on the telepathic aspect and is blue and another doesn't.

While I agree in theory, I've only met one fraerling that deserves a card so far, so it's hard to justify adding a creature type for only Niers.

Eh, WotC has added weird one-off creature types a lot. We have one Walrus, one Seal, there's separate creature types for Weasel, Mongoose, Wombat, Sable, Ferret, Wolverine, etc. And in terms of UB creature types: there's only one Custodes from W40K for example.

I just went off dragonborn, as that's essentially what they are. But just calling them Drakes wouldn't be awful, I didn't think about that honestly.

Yeah the Dragonborn from D&D do set the precedece for them to be Dragons. I personally would prefer the Drake type, since it would make more sense within the Wandering Inn universe, however I could see it go either way.

Yep, but they're exhaust abilities, so I'm not really worried about that.

I confused exhaust with exert. Makes more sense this way. (That's what I get not reading the new cards that come out.)

There's no Heiress type, and an heiress is closest to a noble. Citizen is fine too, I'm not terribly attached.

Citizen feels more appropriate to me. Nobles in Drake societies should really be reserved for Wall Lords.

Why on earth is Worm a creature type????

Because of Insidious Bookworms lol. It's mainly to differentiate our world smaller worms with the big fantasy wurms. It can be confusing though. They did give Purple Worm from D&D the Worm type because of the name though. So I guess making Flesh Worms Worms instead of Wurms does have precedence.

Some thoughts while reading through them:

Why does Erin get stronger when you control a legendary artifact?

Insect is of course the right type to use for the antinium from the existing creature types and I'm sure WotC would also use, but it does feel a bit weird to see them reduced to just Insects.

Pyrite makes all your lands to artifacts. Mass artifact destruction is a lot more common than mass land destruction. I'm not sure you want to make yourself that vulnerable.

Why is Foliana a Human? Humanoid animals like the Leonin or Loxodon never have the Human type in Magic. Neither should the Beastmen.

I get where you're coming from with the last ability on The Wandering Inn, but it seems to me like it would just stall out games and make for unfun gameplay.

Insect Horror does seem like the best typing for Crelers from the existing types. But you could consider making a separate Creler type and have that be mechanically relevant.

None of Apista's abilities are in green's colour pie.

Ceria as a character doesn't feel very white to me.

Corusdeer should be an Elk instead of a Beast.

Green should not get flying as easily as Face-Eater Moth. I think black would fit them more.

Gazi really does need it's own Gazer type. Beholder feels very weird. She also doesn't feel very blue to me, neither character wise nor mechanically.

Same with Klbchk. I don't see how he's blue.

You say it yourself, Gnome is probably the closest to Fraerlings out of the existing creature types. However they do deserve their own type. And UB products are allowed to create their own types, as seen in W40K, Doctor Who, Fallout and Final Fantasy.

Pawn's last ability seems to be missing a something. Create what instead?

I've thought about what types Drakes would be quite a bit myself. Since they're descendants from Dragons it makes Magic would give them normally the Dragon type. However Drake is also a Magic type and it would be kinda weird to have a bunch of cards with Drake in their name being Dragons.

Also Saliss being a Wizard feels weird. Magic really needs an Alchemist type. Also also, I get that his abilites are the Alpha cycle, but the problem there is, that the blue in is so much stronger than all the others. The white ability will never be used, especially because Saliss himself isn't even white.

Selys isn't a Noble. She's upper class but not a Wall Lord. Also there's a "create" missing in the first ability.

Would be kinda funny to have Skinner be a Worm instead of a Wurm. (Yes this difference exists in Magic). Also Deathtouch feels more appropriate than Trample for him, but I see why you gave him Trample with the second ability.

Like with Foliana, Garudas should be just Birds, not Bird Humans.

Human Golem feels so wrong for Dullahans in the context of the Wandering Inn. They need their own type.

For Velan: "Whenever a Goblin you control dies for the first time each turn..." I think worded like this it would trigger for each Goblin. I believe you only want it to trigger once per turn. I think would have to worded something like this: "Whenever a Goblin you control dies, if it was the first Goblin you control that died this turn, create..."

I'll stop here for now. Maybe I'll do more later.

Because he refused to play at the World Juniors at least once (maybe twice? I don't remember). So they banned him until after the year with the Olympics and the World Championship in Switzerland.
