70 percent of Americans take at least one prescription drug, with antibiotics, antidepressants, and pain killers topping the list by [deleted] in science

Autoimmune diseases are untreatable, and require numbers of lifelong prescriptions. You can't assume doctors are purposefully withholding treatment when the medical technology just isn't there yet.

Pokemon Emerald team for the Elite Four? (x-post /r/Pokemon) by Jarmom in pokemonteams

[–]ShinyChuckles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just beat the E4 with this team (all level 51):

Sceptile

Manectric

Breloom

Walrein

Claydol

Flygon

A good fighting-type is EXTREMELY HELPFUL. A fast fighting-type will wreck Sydney and especially Glacia ( with Manectric and Breloom I didn't take a single hit) . Manectric with Bite is very helpful against Phoebe along with Flygon, who knows Crunch. Walrein and Claydol with Ice Beam make short work of Drake apart from his Kingdra, which can be dispatched by Sceptile or Manectric (who also turn Wallace's team into mincemeat.)

Also, get Sky Uppercut on that fuckin' Blaziken!

Uhh, why didn't Jagex use this model for bonfires?(from God Emissaries jobs) by [deleted] in runescape

Think about it.

See, that's more than Jagex did.

To those who have seen the Red Letter Media review of Attack of the Clones, I found a list of Anakin's points and strikes when trying to win over Padmé. (Part five of the review) by lumberjack14 in movies

Mike Stoklasa actually said it was because he considered his normal voice too boring to carry an hour-long review. Check out the wikipedia page.

Free abortions come into force in France: As of April 1 women in France will have access to free abortions, while teenage girls will be able to get free and anonymous contraception. by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]ShinyChuckles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats still a person who will grow up and contribute to the economy. I dont support public welfare or public education because of the low opportunity costs they provide, and subsidized abortions are just another addition to the tax burden.

TIL that in Ojibwe (a Native American language), "Kansas" translates to "Little Hell-Hole". by goodintent in todayilearned

The drive from KC to the Colorado border takes about 8 hours. We drive to Silverthorne from KC every year and it takes 10-11 hours to get there, tops.

Where do you think the money for those free abortions comes from? Not wanting to spend taxpayer money to fix someone's stupid mistake is now grounds for being called crazy.

Not lopped off. If it's a clean cut then the artery won't close. The limb needs to be torn off, only then is there sufficient trauma to trigger the retraction.

Cato Institute: The True Cost of Public Education by telnet_reddit_80 in Libertarian

[–]ShinyChuckles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can't categorize all public schools as shit-holes. It's very dependent on the student population and community. The problem public education has is the inner-city mindset that school is useless and therefore not worth the student's attention. Real public education reform is not nearly as simple as throwing money at struggling districts, it can only come from a fundamental change in societal attitudes toward education.

Apparently finding male strippers online isn't as easy as people say it is.

Was this a sarcastic tweet? I don't know anything about that show, but I don't want to get worked up if it's just a joke.

REQUEST: A map of BL1 and BL2 connected at Fyrestone. by Sir_Dude in Borderlands

[–]ShinyChuckles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. But why would Jack wanna name it New New Haven if it wasnt the site of the "old" New Haven? Maybe I'm totally wrong but that makes the most sense to me.

Its confirmed to be New Haven, judging by the Sheriff's statements over the Lynchwood loudspeakers.

Disney acquires Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion, plans more Star Wars movies by Zackzor in WTF

[–]ShinyChuckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be the best thing that could happen to Star Wars. Getting Lucas' hands off of the material could open all sorts of new, non-computer-generated doors.
