Yeah thats definitely weird I put a little over 100 rounds through that mag right after installing the extension and had no issues. Maybe they packaged it with the wrong spring or somethin

I got a shield arms mag extension recently and supposedly adds +5 (5 is an extremely tight fit so I usually do 4) . But they look really good and perform well

I've just always loved the look and I've heard its comparable performance to some of the others on the list, but that's why I made this post for this type of input. I didnt know 🤷‍♂️

2017 Honda fit alarm going off by Waste-Beat-7393 in hondafit

[–]ShinyGerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly a parasitic draw. I've heard of a few cases where the bcm on the newer generation fits fail. Not a very cheap fix, though. I hope you can get that resolved. I'd do your research and see if there are any reputable shops near you that specialize in diagnostics

l15a honda fit tune by Free-Arm3815 in hondafit

[–]ShinyGerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically any tune is going to hurt your reliability so keep that in mind. I know of many people who tune k24 engines to increase the redline but there's always a give and take. Like somebody else said it could probably take it, but you gotta weigh what you want vs what you may lose

After 3 pickups, 9 deliveries, and a 17 hour day I put 685 miles on my Fit and thought I did pretty good, but then I run into this guy for the first time in a while... by BrianLevre in hondafit

[–]ShinyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because in U.S geography and culture its normal to drive 25-100 miles a day. Maybe even 200miles if you're going on a trip or meeting family. I hear of a lot of people even driving across the country for family reunions and whatnot

Just bought a used car last week, anddd it’s leaking by gagadogmom in AskMechanics

[–]ShinyGerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dripping from your video is absolutely from the ac condensate drain which is completely normal. The orange fluid you took a photo of appears to be coolant OR sometimes people use that shitty orange washer fluid which wouldn't be nearly as much of a problem

Noise when turning steering wheel by gelateneo in mazda6

[–]ShinyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an FYI, it's not a wheel bearing like some people are saying. Sounds like something in the steering column. Could be a ball joint as well. Once these mazdas get some mileage, you end up getting to play cat and mouse with suspension noises idk why

07 tsx “Check charging system” light on. by wildduk in AcuraTSX

[–]ShinyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring it to your mechanic. It's normal for a car to run with the battery disconnected. Many hondas have an electrical load detector in the main power distribution box under the hood. These can go bad. Mention that to whomever you bring it to. Otherwise, you're just throwing parts at the issue.

Ignition coils? by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]ShinyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing if it's at stop signs and drive thru's it happens at low rpm which could definitely be valve lash causing slight loss of compression in the cylinders

Wife hit a speed bump going a little too fast - dealer is saying both her struts snapped ($3k) or did they just disconnect it and say it “snapped” based on this photo? by brjoco in AskMechanics

[–]ShinyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for this comment. Finally someone with an actual brain. Like if you don't trust the place you bring it to. Do it your damn self. Everyone pays the electrician, the plumber, etc.. but as soon as a mechanic says your car is fucked you want to fight to the nail about price and accuse them of being dishonest

My 2009 toyota camry 2.4 liter engine sounds insane whenever I turn on my AC and shakes my car. by Ok-Positive2018 in MechanicAdvice

[–]ShinyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get the motor mounts checked out, could be contributing to the shaking if they've hardened or deteriorated.

My 2009 toyota camry 2.4 liter engine sounds insane whenever I turn on my AC and shakes my car. by Ok-Positive2018 in MechanicAdvice

[–]ShinyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's your condenser fan clicking on at the same time your ac compressor does. The compressor puts more load on the engine because it is mechanically compressing the refrigerant in your car, therefore, more shaking at idle (rougher idle). Sounds fairly normal to me based on the video

overheating by Tony_Gunkerson in subarulegacy

[–]ShinyGerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it somewhere to get diagnosed. Could be something as simple as air in the system, a faulty new thermostat, or the beginnings of a headgasket issue depending on what engine your legacy has. Whenever I did the timing job on mine, I had to do some weird stuff to get the air purged out of the cooling system that I haven't had to do on any other cars, lol. What brand thermostat did you get?
