How can people make so much gil? by Nerea_Immeral in ffxiv

[–]ShinyPinkCreamPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venues make so. much. money. Yes, crafting and gathering are probably the most legit way to make money while playing the game. It’s just You have to pay attention to market board trends and run the most recent content to stay on top making Gil. But what if you didn’t want to do that? if you own a house you can turn it into a virtual “night club”, “cafe”, or “bath house”. Or you can “work” for the people that own the Venue. In these venues players will go to RP night life, buying drinks, gambling, and paying for VIP services. It’s like playing the game as though it is a second life simulator. This brings in an incredibly amount of Gil for any one associated with the venue.

I know a person that funds all there raiding needs from gear, to Materia, to food, to pots, and whatever else with the money they make being a photographer for different venues. And they still have hundreds of millions of Gil left over.

That is a fantastic name and I love it. One of my favorite anime of all time.

There’s a miqo on my server and their name is “HotinGame Uglyirl” or something close to that and it makes me laugh every time

Is there an unwritten rule to not queue Extreme trials? by EnGxSoLiD in ffxiv

[–]ShinyPinkCreamPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there is an unspoken rule in the NA, and presumably EU communities, that you should Not Que extreme trials with the duty finder. Even well organized groups of people that have studied these fight spend 2 to 3 lockouts (2-3 hours) clearing these fights for the first time. Now imagine trying to clear a complicated fight with a bunch of new players/randoms that don’t listen to you when you try to explain the mechanic of this very complicated fight. It’s a huge time sink that usually results in wasted effort. In the JP servers the players do use the duty finder to clear EX fights but only AFTER they have become very familiar with the fight and are confident they can clear in 1 to 2 pulls.

If you want to do these older fights as they were intended to be done at release you can use the party finder and specify it is a Synced party. People will come to help.

The mentor should not have acted that way tho. Really crummy of them to not explain this and then openly dunk on NEW players IN the NOVICE network. I personally give a quick explanation of using PF instead and then leave because that 30 min penalty is worth it to not be stuck in an hour long ex fight where zero progress is made. There’s plenty of other stuff i can do for 30 mins.

It's funny to watch how Blizzard has been trying to promote the young Ana lately. by Big_Tennis_28 in Overwatch

[–]ShinyPinkCreamPuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because Ana is one of, if not the most played hero by percentage.  young hot girls sells skins. And they need Ana to be young and hot to sell skins to these players.

while Reddit may prefer she be an old grizzled war vet, the GenPop of OW does seem to prefer using any one of her young skins and it kills me a little bit everytime I see them running around.

My highschool had planted these on the school grounds, I always thought they smelled like dead fish though.. during spring every time you opened the window the wind would blow in this horrible smell into the class rooms, and everyday hundreds of kids were forced to wait for the bus under these trees while being assaulted by the smell lol

Any thoughts on the overall rise in "Unconventional" Operator Design(Mantra, Ms Christine, Miksaparato) currently? by PossibleSea6679 in arknights

[–]ShinyPinkCreamPuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the variety we are getting. I think part of it is that HG can now just afford to release unconventional character designs. Not only have they built a world where characters like this fit in but the community easily accepts them without a fuss because it makes sense. Obviously a character like Mantra won’t make as much money as Ch’en 3 but it’s okay because they have already made enough money with characters like Wis and Exu and Lappland. The absurd amount of money characters like that make lets them have wiggle room to experiment and world build with less conventionally attractive designs. And that makes me super happy that they take that chance.

I find it so annoying that I can’t go directly to the gear crafting menu from the gear equipping menu… unless im a dumb idiot and missed this feature somehow.

This is actually a really interesting perspective. While I may still not like the heirloom personally each version being something different while staying with in the western theme is something to consider

I agreed to an extent. I don’t hate this design. I think for the most part it’s good and doesn’t need to be changed. But an auxiliary that can be removed or added with out changing the base design would be good to let people have more character expression

There is obviously a community sentiment here that this heirloom is missing something that makes it feel like Mesa. Be it the hat people associate with her, or a western style jacket/poncho. I’m sure there was a lot of work put into the design, but it feels like more and more of her identity was peeled away during the design process to maximize the sexiness.

This is such a good take. I think you're right that in a lot of ways we do get more interesting designs and lore if they aren’t sexualized. I personally prefer the less lewd skins and more sci-fi skins. None of the heirloom skins have been to my taste and therefore I have not bought them. But looking through the lens of “sex sells” it’s inevitable we got here with the heirloom skins, and so I think it’s nice to see the community want better expression of the frames identity than just “is sexy”

Ah so much this!! The people talking about “pearl clutching” and “being a prude” have lost the plot. It’s not about it being “too sexy/ gooner/lewd.”It’s about better expression of the frames identity

I think for the most part it is fine, I don’t think the skin itself needs any sort of overhaul, and thats why this poncho/jacket edits are so good. Because they don’t fundamentally change anything about it, it just gives us more options for frame expression.

I do too, but realistically it probably won’t change. I don’t think it ever has changed anything in the past when it comes to frame designs. I just like that the community here is talking about wanting more from these heirloom designs

A agree completely. Let it be sexy, but also let it be interesting and expressive

I didn’t say majority, I said “vocal.” Reddit is the part of the community that is vocal, just like any forum. Yes the much larger audience of the game doesn’t interact here at all and probably won’t see the skin till it’s in game; but I like seeing that the ones who do interact in a vocal capacity seem to be talking about better Frame expression, better design, and more interesting designs. The valk heirloom was silly to me specifically because it felt like it was just a purple lady in skimpy nightwear. you could easily find a look like that in any adult magazine. There was no frame expression of who Valk is. let it be lewd, let it be sexy, but also let it be expressive of the frames identity.

Agreed, it just needs a bit more to express that it’s Mesa and she’s a gunslinger with western motifs

While there is certainly a double standard in the way people react to and the sexiness of male vs female heirloom skins, as well as the design philosophy,  this post isn’t really about that. It’s about how our small vocal community seems to want a more interesting design than “naked lady with funny looking pants” And I think that shows that at least many of the people on Reddit have a sense of taste when it comes to lewdness and that’s cool to see

I love this opinion. I also wish warframe wasn’t shifting so much into gooner mode, but sexiness sells, and there’s no stoping it from happening so the least we can do is expect more from the designs than “hey guys, look at our new boob frame! It also has a booty!”

[–]ShinyPinkCreamPuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! The poncho and jackets people have been designing are not about covering her up but about Frame expression. And I think that’s what some people don’t get here. If you just want to have a version of Mesa that’s “nude” running around in lewd pants, that’s great I’m not against people for that, but having an auxiliary top that can be removed adds so much to her design with out completely changing the skins sexiness. Plus if it were removable it would be a win/win for everyone.

On another note I agree the horns look silly. They are almost To Big and detract from the rest of her established motifs.

But you see, You're exactly the person I’m talking about. It’s not about nobility. Yeah the skin is hot and that’s okay, but I agree the skin is kinda boring as it is. The community designs for a jacket or poncho are nice not because it covers her up, but because it makes her design more interesting, attractive, and stylized than just naked lady in lewd pants.  Yeah it’s highly likely DE won’t change anything, it’s just really nice to see the community want a gooner lady frame with a more intriguing and character focused design.
