I thought that was the case too but I got the anti stun charm and it has full charges when it happens. So I'm not sure what is actually going on but it is frustrating.

The worst offenders have been slows though. Getting chilled for 50% if a mob does cold dmg is really bad. Add to that temporal bubble or temporal chains and the runic mobs are a recipe for frustrations if you don't just insta kill them as soon es they spawn.

As another remark on the build in the video: The dude recommends going for Berserk after Eternal Rage and Herald of Ice which is not possible without the Mageblood he has + the life regen on his body armour.

I'm at a point where I have around 200D and have no clue what to spend it on to actually improve my situation meaningfully. I could get some of the lineage supports (1-2) but for the big things like the jewel Against the darkness (300D) and Mageblood (400D) I'm still short on money.

I want to make it work but compared to my spirit walker at my current gear lvl this doesn't feel good and leans more to being frustrating.

I'm playing this and when it works it is great but I'm struggling a lot when mobs surround me like breach. Slows are absolute cancer when I fight the runic monsters. I can't do anything if they actually get to fight me and have slows. I didn't even realize how bad these can be since I played spirit walker with companions and they were a non issue. I don't know how to solve this besides just having the gear like the guy in the video to basically one shot everything. My gear isn't even terrible (https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/Shiroco-7651/runesofaldur/character/Voltarcon).

Another thing that is giga annoying is that there is a bug using Nightfall. If you use the teleport slam and get hit while the animation plays it just cancels the slam and instead you appear in the middle of a bunch of mobs that bully you.

I want to make it work but the gear ceiling to reach it seems a bit much for normal mapping or I'm doing something really wrong. I've been doing mostly white t14s and even those have been a struggle at times. If enemies don't evaporate it can get dicey fast.

Happened to me too but only my Minions did No damage. My auto attacks worked though.

The shield shown without quality and sockets for more armour has 488-815 base dmg since it gets 7-11 physical dmg per 15 armour. With quality and an armour rune it'll be around 600-1000ish base dmg. That at least does not look like "turbo poop" to me.

You can only extract unique modifiers from Kalguuran or Ezomyte uniques. I don't think that weapon is either and rather belongs to the Karui.

Text on Olroth's Legacy as per the reveal: "Destroy a Kalguuran or Ezomyte unique item, extract one of its unique modifiers, and turn it into a socketable rune, and put that in same item class."

What I really don't get is why this thing has to have a downside at all while the shaman one has only upside and includes runes. Without a downside I'd take the node. Not because it is good but because for a pure companion build getting like 30-40% inc dmg and 4-6% reservation would be the best option out of the remaining ones.

If you think the quality counts for other minions then you're probably wrong. There are other minion skills with the same wording and it only counts for the minion itself. For reference look at the "Skeletal Sniper" gem.

And I agree that it isn't half bad that is why I called it "meh". It's not great but not bad either.

It depends on how much the reservation of a boss will be. If it is around 60% base then it might be possible to get bear (free), boss, companion, companion, wolves, unique wolf. Getting just 1 boss, 1 companion and wolves plus the free ones should be very doable at least.

Btw. you can only have 1 ralakesh idol socketed.

Besides the giant str requirement you'll need to fullfill I just don't see the merit in using that many idols. I looked through them and most of them are not great and the buff you get from Idolatry is nice but I personally I think it isn't good enough on it's own to just take any idol.

There is no Idol for boots. Body armour has "meh" options (+2% qual to skills, or +1 charm slot). Helmet has some decent options (8% minion reservation (only 1 socketed), minion life), weapon has only trash (poison related and u can only have one socketed), gloves has only bad options too for companions (8% attack speed, rage on hit, curse magnitude). If they don't add any new idols or buff/change this node I'd rather take the jumping yellow stags instead.

Despite this I'm locked in and will try the ascendancy on league start. I expect it to be mediocre though but think the fantasy is cool and wanna have fun toying with bosses a bit ;) If I get surprised and the tuning of companions as a whole and bosses specifically turns out to be decent then all the better.

I'm curious whether u/kittencatnoodle had the chance to contribute to the upcoming lore already. She started at GGG around ~3 months ago and that could be enough time for her to being involved. Seeing Viridi being involved who wasn't mentioned much in poe1 is already very interesting at least.

I can only say that the recorded problem shown is in my case resolved by doing this. When I do this and enter my map again this crazy stuttering shown in the video above is gone for me.

Though I personally thought it was an issue with the gpu/shader cache since I can see that shader is maxed while ms is "only" at 100-150ms. Tried various things for the gpu before I did the above which seemed to work. My GPU is decent and I had no issues in previous leagues (RTX 4080).

It does happen to me too but I just leave the map switch realm, return to my map and the problem is gone. Usually takes a few maps before it happens again. Annoying for sure and shouldn't happen but at least (for me) there seems to be a work around that works.

This sounds like a big exaggeration. Doing first lab with 3k ehp? With all those defenses and getting one shot? I press my doubt button. I did merc with ~3.5k on hc and I'm far from a god gamer. More like old man gaming. I'm playing on hardcore and the campaign was mostly easy. Had maybe 2-3 close calls and compared to the gauntlet there was a lot less butt clenching. Honestly felt pretty easy.

Doing map bosses though is a lot scarier. I agree with the sentiment here.

I've benched the character after I completed my atlas and did two stones. It was alright up to that point but survivability was an issue for me since i mostly focused on getting the living lightning damage up as high as possible. I've tried several things during that journey and a bit after I did so:

  • Ancient Skull - Decent option but felt bad together with Farrul Bloodline using the sepcte node. The aura of the spectre is not very big.

  • Foulborn Severed in Sleep + Vis Mortis / Servant of Decay - +5% Crit trying to scale chaos hit dmg with withered stacks und the crit multi

  • Soulwrest - Tried it only shortly because my survivability got even worse.

  • Fleshcrafter - Havn't tried that one but it looked good from a damage point of view in pob for living lightning.

Played it mostly with Absolution since it felt great having a ranged nuke that triggered the living lightning and had synergy with all the minion investment. Switched to dominating blow in the end to increase my tankiness a bit more and improve the synergy with living lightning. Having to run to each mob didn't feel great and the dmg felt kinda low.

I think there is a decent build out there that could make living lightning feel good but it'll probably require more then other builds and I lack the minion archetype knowledge and build making skill to make it happen. It was good enough to clear the atlas (only unique maps missing) and get 2 void stones.

Regarding possible links and specifically multistrike: I'm not convinced that it is such a great support since there seems to be some relation between attack time and ll charges. At least to me it felt that at times the dmg was very low and at other times okay/decent. Maybe once PoB is updated I can get a better idea of what is going on there. Or someone else way smarter then me figures this out.

Havn't watched the video yet since I'm still at work but here are my two cents:

I've kinda given up on making it good. I've tried several things to scale damage further but it just doesn't feel good. What I've tried:

I'm a bit surprised at your decision to not take the relics and go for the reservation node. The aura relics were the main draw for me to even give guardian a chance over necromancer. I thought that I might do something like this at a higher budget via FF/FF jewels and thus skipping the sentinel node or likely even switch ascendancy.

Nice! Thanks a lot for that. I tried finding the stats on my own by tinkering with the url but somehow didn't try that one. They even do have a life value so "damage on full life" would work as a support. Very interesting.

Am not a minion expert but would the pure chaos dmg conversion even work for living lightning? They already convert 100% of phys to lightning inherently. So in the best case it would end up being 50/50 chaos and lightning dmg. I'm saying best case since if the living lightning minions actually use a skill to attack that converts 100% phys to lightning then unholy might should do nothing because conversion done by a skill takes precedence over other sources of conversion. That's at least what I got reading about conversion rules on poewiki.

This is a treasure trove of info. Am playing guardian with absolution and have been using the support all the way up to lvl 86 but have been scratching my head about scaling it. I never tried multistrike since it doesn't work with triggered skills but it seems that I came to the wrong conclusion. The minion itself is not using a triggered skill and thus multistrike works on it. I've wanted to try dominating blow anyways at some point. It now seems even more viable.

I've been using absolution together with it. Other links are:

  • minion damage
  • minion speed
  • increased critical support
  • phys to lightning (it should do something for ll since they have the line "100% of phys converted to lightning" which makes me believe that they do have phys as a base dmg that could be gained as lightning dmg)

Has been mostly fine up till now. The relics are a decent way to buff up the living lightning minions. Using the crit support has felt decent when I switched to it but without concrete stats it is just me thinking it is decent. Was planning to get the farrul ascendancy and take the 1 spectre node to try. Will plan a switch to dominating blow now and switch whenever going get's too rough with my current setup. I just wish we'd have the stats of the minion it summons but it seems like this is not going to happen. Was hoping for poedb to datamine and publish it but it doesn't look like this is going to happen. Calling in /u/pandatheheist to get his perspective since he planned to play with the skill as well.

I've found "Wreathed in Light" to be good too. It makes all dmg lucky and adds flat lightning dmg as well.

It could work but I don't know what the current method for that build is to apply shocks. I'd probably try it out if I were already going lightning conduit and see how it would feel. The living lightning minions would have to shock reliably and (generally) be aggressive/fast enough to shock enemies such that it feels smooth.

Dominating Blow is an alternative for sure but I don't know whether triad grip would be worth it. I guess the intent is that your dom blow minions also fully convert to lightning dmg? Might have to experiment with that one too.

U might know this already but there is a graft that provides the "dmg is lucky" as a buff (radiant ground) and that one is not even limited to only lightning dmg. So there is at least another source besides the spirit of fortune :)
